rionaleonhart: the mentalist: lisbon, afraid but brave, makes an important call. (it's been an honour)
I really thought this was just going to be a weird, dark oneshot! Apparently it's a weird, dark twoshot instead. This is entirely [personal profile] magistrate's fault.

Title: Moving On, Part Two

rionaleonhart: top gear: the start button on a bugatti veyron. (going down tonight)
Surely, at some point, I'm going to go 'right, I've written enough post-Until Dawn fanfiction about traumatised teenagers and I am free.'

This is not that point. Here is my fifth work of post-Until Dawn fanfiction about traumatised teenagers.

Title: Moving On

Summary: Sam and Mike do not have the healthiest coping strategies.

Moving On )

Part Two
rionaleonhart: final fantasy versus xiii: a young woman at night, her back to you, the moon high above. (nor women neither)
Hey, I managed to write some fanfiction after all! Uncharacteristically, it is entirely devoid of Mike/Sam.

Emily, it turns out, is a lot of fun to write.

Title: Barricade
Fandom: Until Dawn
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 1,700
Summary: Only Mike, Ashley and Emily survived the night. There's a certain amount of strain on their friendship, particularly when it becomes clear how Chris really died.

Barricade )
rionaleonhart: the mentalist: lisbon, afraid but brave, makes an important call. (it's been an honour)
My response to running out of Higurashi, apparently, was to write a heavily Higurashi-inspired Final Fantasy XV fic. This is horrible and I apologise sincerely for it.

Title: When the Cockatrice Cries
Fandom: Final Fantasy XV
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 4,200
Summary: Something is wrong with Prompto's friends. Something is seriously wrong. He's starting to feel he might not be safe around them.
Warnings: Psychological horror, sexual threat.

When the Cockatrice Cries )
rionaleonhart: final fantasy versus xiii: a young woman at night, her back to you, the moon high above. (nor women neither)
I didn't think I'd actually write this! I've never even attempted Final Fantasy VI fanfiction before. If you'd told me a fortnight ago I was about to write Celes/Sabin, I'd have asked whether you were sure.

Sorry about the pretentious lowercase title. It just seemed like a title that demanded pretentious lowercase.

Title: a little thing like the end of the world
Fandom: Final Fantasy VI
Rating: light R
Pairing: Celes/Sabin
Wordcount: 1,600
Summary: Celes and Sabin, together in the wreckage.

a little thing like the end of the world )
rionaleonhart: legend of korra: korra cocks an eyebrow, looking smug. (we shall see)
This is a bit of an odd one. I wouldn't have expected a prison AU to be the sort of thing I'd write for this fandom. But then I saw this prompt on the kinkmeme, and somehow this happened. It takes wild liberties with both magic and prisons.

(I entirely failed to hit any of the 'bonus points if' details on the prompt. Whoops. The prompter was a good sport about it, though.)

Title: Deserving
Fandom: Final Fantasy XV
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 4,500
Summary: Prison AU. Noctis, Ignis and Gladio are all serving time. When they realise Prompto doesn't belong there, they band together to break him out.
Warnings: Although this is an AU, it does contain Final Fantasy XV spoilers. It also contains hints of sexual threat.

Deserving )
rionaleonhart: ffxv: prompto is trying to listen but actually thinking about his giant crush on you (prompto has a crush on everyone) (i can be serious)
I really need to stop feeling that the things I write for [community profile] ffxv_kinkmeme somehow aren't 'valuable' enough to post elsewhere. Silly, cute writing isn't inherently worth less than serious, tragic writing! It's okay to write fiction with the goal of making people smile; making people smile is actually a pretty great thing.

The original prompt is here.

Title: Education
Fandom: Final Fantasy XV
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Prompto/Gladio
Wordcount: 1,500
Summary: Prompto asks Gladio for advice on flirting. It doesn't really go the way he'd planned.

Education )
rionaleonhart: final fantasy xv: prompto, the best character, with a touch of swagger. (looking ahead)
My sudden, intense burst of writing for Final Fantasy XV again continues! This is rather less serious than my last couple of fics. Somehow I still haven't written a Noctis/Gladio/Ignis/Prompto fic, but at least this incorporates three of the four. Sorry for leaving you out, Ignis.

In a weird way, my approach to pairings in this game reminds me of writing for Top Gear. Even if there are some pairings I enjoy more than others, I'm happy to write the boys in any combination. Rather than 'shipping anything specific, I just have story ideas and then go 'right, if there's going to be romance in this one, which character combination would work best with the concept?'

(Newer followers: er, yes, I'm afraid there was a time when I wrote a lot of Top Gear fanfiction.)

I use so many italics when I'm writing Prompto. It's like I'm seventeen again.

I should note that I originally posted one of the scenes in this - the Prompto/Gladio one - as a kinkmeme fill, back in January (I was the second filler). It's been slightly tweaked to fit into the wider story.

Title: Well, This Is Awkward
Fandom: Final Fantasy XV
Rating: PG-13/R? Let's just go with the UK rating system and say 15.
Pairing: Prompto/Noctis, Prompto/Gladio, Noctis/Gladio, Prompto/Noctis/Gladio
Wordcount: 3,000
Summary: When you're on the road together, you can end up in uncomfortable situations.

Well, This Is Awkward )
rionaleonhart: final fantasy xv: prompto, the best character, with a touch of swagger. (looking ahead)
More Final Fantasy XV fanfiction!

...more Final Fantasy XV fanfiction I can't actually write a useful summary for without spoiling the game. Curses.

Writing this presented a really interesting challenge! ...that, again, I can't actually talk about for spoilery reasons. Stupid Final Fantasy XV.

Title: Connection, Duty
Fandom: Final Fantasy XV
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Noctis/Ignis
Wordcount: 4,000
Summary: Ignis hears a familiar voice.
Warnings: Spoilers for most of the game.

Connection, Duty )
rionaleonhart: ffxv: prompto is trying to listen but actually thinking about his giant crush on you (prompto has a crush on everyone) (i can be serious)
HAVE SOME MISERY. I saw this prompt (Final Fantasy XV spoilers up to chapter 11) on [community profile] ffxv_kinkmeme, and the idea intrigued me so much that I had to give it a go.

Title: Break
Fandom: Final Fantasy XV
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 1,300
Summary: Any summary I could write would suggest Final Fantasy XV spoilers, so I'll just warn that this fic has spoilers up to chapter 11 and was tagged 'blood and misery' on AO3. When I told Rei the concept, her response was 'why would you write that?'

Break )
rionaleonhart: the mentalist: lisbon, afraid but brave, makes an important call. (it's been an honour)
I feel really weird about this fic. I feel like, on some level, writing for something I last wrote for when I was fifteen has caused me to revert to the writing level I was at when I was fifteen. Maybe I'm imagining it. I hope I'm imagining it.

This fic also isn't screwed up at all, and that makes me uncomfortable. What's the point of fanfiction if nobody makes out with the wrong person or is trapped forever in a hallucinatory vortex of guilt?

Title: Clarity
Fandom: DN Angel
Rating: G
Pairing: unrequited Satoshi/Daisuke
Wordcount: 1,500
Summary: Daisuke finally realises that Satoshi is in love with him.

Clarity )
rionaleonhart: ffxv: prompto is trying to listen but actually thinking about his giant crush on you (prompto has a crush on everyone) (i can be serious)
Why didn't I keep writing for Final Fantasy XV? I wrote a couple of fics there and went 'yes, this fandom's so alive, there's an AO3 audience of thousands, it feels great, TIME TO PLUNGE INTO YET ANOTHER DYING FANDOM.'

In fairness, Oxenfree does contain a lot of themes I find really hard to resist. Time shenanigans, sibling relationships, strangers bonding under intense pressure. Sibling relationships between strangers who bond under intense pressure! That's not a combination you get to see often. I was doomed from the start.

Title: A Thousand First Impressions
Fandom: Oxenfree
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 1,500
Summary: Spoilers for the entire game. Jonas meets his stepsister for the first time.

A Thousand First Impressions )
rionaleonhart: final fantasy xiii: lightning pays intense attention to you. (speak carefully)
WELL, THIS IS THE MOST HORRIBLE FIC I'VE WRITTEN IN A WHILE. The Alex-and-Jonas stepsibling relationship is my favourite thing about Oxenfree! Why did I have to do this to it?

Title: Passing Eternity (or, alternatively, Why Oxenfree Isn't a Dating Sim)
Fandom: Oxenfree
Rating: R
Pairing: Alex/Ren, Alex/Clarissa, Alex/Jonas, Alex/Nona
Wordcount: 4,100
Summary: Spoilers for the entire game. Alex sets out to seduce everyone on the island.
Warnings: Emotional manipulation, hatekissing, pseudo-incestuous kissing, references to canonical character death. The rating is for this fic generally being weird and horrible, not for explicitness; there's nothing beyond making out in here.

Passing Eternity )
rionaleonhart: the mentalist: lisbon, afraid but brave, makes an important call. (it's been an honour)
I finished Oxenfree last night! Twenty-four hours later, here I am, posting fanfiction. Incredibly spoilery fanfiction. I'm not sure I can even write a summary for this one.

Title: Rebuild
Fandom: Oxenfree
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 2,600
Summary: Spoilers! I'd recommend not reading this unless you have at least an idea of the major possible ending differences. But it's about (step)sibling relationships.

rionaleonhart: harry potter: extremely poorly-drawn dumbledore fleeing and yelling NOOOOOOOOO. (NOOOOOOOOO)
I FINISHED THE ALPHABET FICSNIPPETS.

Recent followers will not be aware of how these alphabet ficsnippets have plagued me for the last half-decade. In 2010, I wrote twenty-six little snippets of fanfiction: the first contained one character whose name started with A and one whose name started with B, the second a B and a C, and so on (A to M, N to Z). It was fun! It was relatively quick! It seemed like a good idea to attempt it again, this time with characters that shared an initial!

It has taken a thousand years. I said in the second instalment, back in 2013, that I probably wouldn't be finished until 2015. It was supposed to be a humorous exaggeration.

But here we are at last! If any of the previous character combinations listed strike your fancy, here are links to the other instalments.

FINISHED AT LAST. This has been an enjoyable exercise, even though it took much, much longer than planned.

Why do I have so many fandoms? Nobody needs this many fandoms.
rionaleonhart: ffxv: prompto is trying to listen but actually thinking about his giant crush on you (prompto has a crush on everyone) (i can be serious)
Written for [community profile] ffxv_kinkmeme! I'm not sure it perfectly fulfils the prompt ('Prompto gets the shovel talk from everyone' - in the end, only one of the talks was actually threatening), but it was a lot of fun to write.

Consequence of being in this fandom: when I tried to write 'prompt' up there, I automatically wrote 'prompto' instead.

Being in a fandom of this size is a little intimidating, to be honest. When I posted my previous Final Fantasy XV fic to AO3, I was going 'well, this is just silly fluff, but I don't have to be embarrassed about that because I'm posting it on Christmas Eve and nobody will actually read it'. It got over a thousand hits.

Title: Life Imitates
Fandom: Final Fantasy XV
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Noctis/Prompto
Wordcount: 3,200
Summary: Everyone keeps trying to lecture Prompto on dating Noctis. Which would be fine if he and Noctis were actually dating.

Life Imitates )
rionaleonhart: final fantasy xv: prompto, the best character, with a touch of swagger. (looking ahead)
For some reason, all the fanfiction I want to write for this game is cute and silly. I suppose it makes for a change from all the psychological trauma, but it's also a bit disconcerting. There's kissing in this! This isn't my comfort zone!

Title: Scattershot
Fandom: Final Fantasy XV
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Noctis/Prompto, Prompto/multiple
Wordcount: 1,700

rionaleonhart: final fantasy versus xiii: a young woman at night, her back to you, the moon high above. (nor women neither)
Look, yes, I know I told you to stop me if I wrote Final Fantasy XV fanfiction before the game was released. This doesn't count. It's fanfiction for the prequel film. Completely different.

I just really, really wanted to see these characters meet.

Title: Another Level
Fandom: Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV
Rating: PG
Pairing: possibly a hint of Crowe/Lunafreya
Wordcount: 1,100
Summary: Crowe arrives to escort the princess to her wedding, and finds herself unprepared.

Another Level )
rionaleonhart: red dead redemption: john marston reloads sexily (debatable). (just gonna reload while talkin' to you)
This is not at all the fic I meant to write. Honestly, I was planning to write about Hinata and Kuzuryuu making out. But then the making out caused canon to diverge, and Komaeda somehow seized the focus, and I ended up having to cut out the Hinata/Kuzuryuu entirely because it just felt like an awkward plot device in a fic that had become more about the relationship between Hinata and Komaeda.

Which is a shame, because Hinata/Kuzuryuu is a great pairing. (I've been replaying Super Dangan Ronpa 2, and their relationship has really struck me this time around.) Maybe I'll manage a real Hinata/Kuzuryuu piece eventually.

Title: (Mis)fortune
Fandom: Super Dangan Ronpa 2
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 3,700
Summary: In which Komaeda's best-laid plans are thwarted by his own luck.

(Mis)fortune )
rionaleonhart: okami: amaterasu is startled. (NOT SO FAST)
I haven't officially participated in National Novel Writing Month since 2004, but I've tried to write at least a little every day of every November since 2009. It's an interesting exercise, and it sometimes means I write things I might never have considered otherwise. For example, here's an unexpected second part to Worth Something, which was really supposed to be a one-shot. The first part was Hinata and Koizumi; this part is Hinata and Kuzuryuu. I'm half-tempted to write about Hinata meeting the entire class, but I think I'll probably resist the urge.

Title: Worth Something, Part Two
