I understand your Hetalia/FMA confusion! I was far too delighted when I found it out myself, long before this episode aired. So I would read that theoretical crossover with bells on. And, er, speaking of this episode, I don't remember that last scene with Germany and the Italies being quite so dirty in the manga.
