The comparison hadn't occurred to me, but they really are a bit Holmes-and-Watsonish. That might explain why I 'ship them so much more sincerely than anyone should really 'ship anything from Peep Show. Although, in the Mark-and-Jeremy relationship, Holmes is a bit of an idiot, Watson has somehow acquired Holmes' social impairment, and God help us if they ever try to fight crime.
