You may like Murder City; it had a couple of series on BBC a few years back. Amanda Donohoe played an older, more experienced cop partnered with Kris Marshall who isn't quite a teenage boy but quite frequently acted like he was. I was quite fond of it while it lasted mostly because of the way they interacted. I don't know of it was released on DVD but I suspect it'd be pretty cheap by now so may be worth checking out. :)
