I can't explain why the hotel was so horrible (I'm thinking of when you first enter the hotel and pass through two floors of hunters to get to the lift, before the water section), but augh. The first time, I tried to charge straight through, got lost because I had no idea where I was going and ended up being beaten to death horribly. When I actually succeeded, I moved so slowly that it took me about twenty minutes to get through the two floors of hunters, and I just kept freaking out more and more as time ticked by because if I died I'd have wasted the last ten/fourteen/eighteen minutes. (The lighting in the ground floor was all right, but the first floor, which in America you'd sensibly call the second floor, was pretty dark. I spent a lot of time holding the 'listen' button down.)
Clickers are pretty awful, but it's almost impossible for them to kill you if you have shivs to hand, at least. When you run out of shivs, of course, you're completely screwed. I think human enemies frighten me more because they're more intelligent, less predictable and can attack from a distance. CLICKERS NEVER THROW MOLOTOV COCKTAILS AT YOU.
Also sometimes human enemies will beg for mercy when you knock them down and I'm too terrified to show mercy and then I feel awful.
