I haven't seen the abridged series, but I suspect you won't yet have met Komaeda, as he only appears in the second game (which hasn't been made into an anime). Which is a bit of a shame, because Komaeda is a fascinating character.
If the abridged series intrigued you enough to want to check out the games (and you don't have a Vita to play them on), the first game has a fan translation with screenshots (and, for the later trials, subtitled videos), made before the game was officially localised. The official localisations were released under the names Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, if you're more interested in tracking those down. Or, of course, you may not want to pursue Dangan Ronpa at all! I'm just making assumptions because you seem to be enquiring about the games.
