You may have a point there. The original Life Is Strange actually felt a bit too bleak to me at times, and I don't really know why Life Is Strange 2 doesn't have the same problem for me; it's not like it's less bleak! Maybe I'm blinded by my love of fictional siblings.

Or I suppose it's possible that the first Life Is Strange just bit too close to home for me personally in its themes. I'm white, and I live in a country where there's almost no gun violence and the police aren't routinely armed, so, while I understand that the problems the Diaz siblings face are real and horrible, they're not problems I've encountered in my own life. On the other hand, I have lost friends to suicide, which made the original Life Is Strange very upsetting at points.
