Oh man, I definitely felt a difference in my emotional response to spoiling myself prematurely to Minato Kosuke dying compared to actually witnessing it and playing through it and hurting! The team not getting there in time, having to carry his sleeping-dead body back to the dorm... I was basically a blubbering mess from immediately post-battle up to the credits finished.
I think Persona 3 was the first time I spent so much time with a set of characters, I felt emotionally attached to their journey. The series is good for that! But I think there's some level of imprinting involved, with whatever game is the first played.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was a lot of fun getting to go on this journey with you. What game is next in your vidya life?
Also, Mitsuru and Akihiko completely end up married. How dare you use logic and character traits to apply otherwise.
