Most of the criticism I've seen has been about the casting of Tom Holland as Nate. I actually don't have a problem with that; I think he could be fun as teenage Nate! (The fact that Nate's a teenager in this film also soothes my sorrow at not getting my dream Nathan Drake casting of Brett Dalton, who reminded me very strongly of Nate in Until Dawn.)

My larger issue with this film is the casting of Mark Wahlberg as Sully, given his history of violent hate crime. I mean, I don't know him, and it's been a few decades; maybe he's grown and changed! I don't think people with criminal convictions should be barred from acting for life. But, as someone who's not personally acquainted with him and can't judge what he's like as a person now, all I know is that he has a history of violent hate crime, and that makes it sort of uncomfortable to see him as Sully.
