I'm always surprised when a canon takes a forbidden romance and somehow manages to make it boring. See also Pretty Little Liars, which contains the dullest teacher/student relationship I've seen in my life. If they didn't want to engage with the fucked-up aspects of a forbidden relationship, why write one in the first place?
