Sadly, Delaware Singer Is Not On The List.

My father has come up with 'Shoot Your Shopping', a rather brilliant idea for revolutionising online supermarket shopping. You travel down virtual aisles, shooting at objects you want. Special offers occasionally appear at the top of the screen, and if you are the first to shoot an offer you get it. You have the opportunity, at the end of your shopping trip, to pay five pounds for a minigame in which you try to fight your way past the security guards; if you succeed, your shopping is free (your odds are better on smaller purchases). My brother made the suggestion that you have to avoid other trollies in the virtual aisles, because if you crash into one you will receive a box of broken eggs.

Seriously, if there were an online shopping system like that, you can't tell me you wouldn't use it.

AND NOW TO THE TRUE PURPOSE OF THIS ENTRY. This is a meme I did a while ago, and it was a lot of fun then. [livejournal.com profile] shizuka_blooms has reminded me of it by posting a variation, and I think it's time to give it another go, as I have acquired a number of new fandoms since I last tried it. Hurrah!

1) Make a list of fifteen twenty-one (yeah, I've got no self-discipline at all) characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. (That way you're not leading the questions asked to fit the characters.)

2) Ask your flist to post questions in the comments.

For example:

'One, Nine, Fifteen and Twenty-One are chosen by a prophecy to save the world from Four. Do they succeed?'
'Under what circumstances might Five and Seven fall in love?'
'Which character on the list would you most want on your side in a zombie invasion?'
'What would Two experience in Silent Hill?'
'What Pokémon would Eight have?'
'Write a drabble in which Sixteen and Nineteen FIGHT CRIME.'
(...possibly not technically a question.)

3) After your flist has asked enough questions, round them up and answer them using the twenty-one
(augh) characters you selected beforehand, then post them.

Ask away! (And please feel free to ask as many questions as you would like.)

Only the one prompt, but it's a good one, I hope.

1, 3, and 5 accidentally initiate the apocalypse. Whoops. Well, somehow, 21 always knew it was going to happen, and prepared for the day by forming 12, 6, and 14 into a crack squadron to safeguard the Earth and all the people in it. Unfortunately, said crack squad needs vital information from 9, which they attempt to retrieve only to discover that in a shocking twist of fate, 7 ate 9. (8, having witnessed this act, was so emotionally scarred that se felt the need to hide hirself in a psychiatric ward in New Jersey.)

1, 3, and 5, having realized their mistake, go to seek assistance in rectifying it from 20, but are mugged on the way by the crime-causing duo 15 and 18 and left bleeding on the Mancunian way. They wake up in 1973, where they meet 2 working out the final kinks on hir time machine; 2 sends them back to the present, but remains in 1973 in order to rescue 19, who has become the prisoner of '70s villain 10.

Crack Squad 12, 6, and 14 are working as hard as they can to solve the apocalypse when 4 arrives to tell them that they must seek to undo it at the source, and this can only be accomplished by use of a time machine. Se recommends 11 as the most likely one to have a time machine lying around, and while 6 and 14 think it's a great idea, 12 decides to find the people responsible for this in the first place under the assumption that no one voluntarily tries to start the apocalypse, and they might be willing to help. 6 and 14 leave with 4, and 12 strikes out on hir own.

1, 3, and 5 return to the scene of their crime only to be intercepted by 13, who warns them that the apocalypse is unstable and should not be tampered with. As if to prove this very fact 16 falls out of a rift in time and space before them, followed shortly thereafter by 19, who was not rescued by 2 but rather fell through, well, a rift in space and time.

6 and 14 arrive with their secret weapon, 17, who has convinced them that the only way to end the madness is to kill the instigators. 6, 14, and 17 and threaten to kill 1, 3, and 5 for beginning the apocalypse. 12 comes in at the last moment to prevent them from doing so, makes a passionate speech, and in doing to reminds them of their first plan of finding a time machine. 1 remembers 2's time machine, and 19 agrees that surely 2's time machine would be sufficient, and they hatch a cunning plan to retrieve it.

This involves calling up 21 to get hir to hit 12 and 1 with a car hard enough to send them back to 1973, where they have to rescue 2 from 10 before bringing the time machine (and 2!) back to the present day, where they undo the apocalypse and facilitate 2's joyful reunion with 19. Afterward, everyone there goes out for beer.

Write any scene or scenes from that story.
