PS I should probably say, maybe these things just bug me more since I've only been reading fanfic of any kind for a few months. I've never been 'in fandoms' really before last year. I think it's probably something you mostly get immune to after a while (and also physically just learn to filter out; some of the weirder stuff I came across when I was more generally reading fic, rather than looking in specific places as I do now).
