I don't know the creator personally, although I've been a fan of her work since I was twelve, and it does seem as if writing fanfiction about her characters might be a bit of an odd thing to do. But, on the other hand, it doesn't seem she'd mind; she certainly seems enthusiastic when other people draw them. I'm thinking of perhaps writing some fic and then asking her whether she'd mind if I posted it.
