Cameron May Have Been Sending The Daggers.

A couple of nights ago, I dreamt that I was being attacked by flying daggers in Middle-earth because I had slept with Nick Clegg.

I just thought you should know.

(I mean, I should clarify, that my sleeping with Nick Clegg resulted in the attack in the dream-world, not that sleeping with Nick Clegg in real life caused the dream.)


A few months ago, I made an entry about zarla's original characters for the Left 4 Dead games, female versions of the Smoker and Hunter zombie types; I'd never played the games in question, but I had fallen in love with these characters. Since then, she's drawn a lot more about them; you can find it on her Left 4 Dead tag or on this page, although that hasn't yet been updated with this entry, which brings in jazaaboo's OCs, female Charger and Jockey. I was afraid I might resent Charger and Jockey for getting in the way of the Hunter-Smoker dynamic, but it turns out that I love them as well. Hooray!

I've started thinking 'in the world of Pokémon, Smoker would be perpetually followed by a Koffing or two' or 'ooh, what would their Hogwarts houses be?', and then getting annoyed because they are original characters and as such do not have a real fandom.

BUT I'M GOING TO TREAT THEM LIKE A FANDOM ANYWAY.

Hunter is absolutely-no-question in Gryffindor. I think Charger might be a Gryffindor as well. Jockey is probably in Hufflepuff. Smoker is a bit trickier than the others; maybe, maybe a Ravenclaw? Or perhaps she turns out to be a Squib and becomes the caretaker, BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY ALL SQUIBS BECOME THE HOGWARTS CARETAKER, THIS IS CLEARLY THE RULE, smoking in the corridors and resenting the students, until Hunter befriends her. Ooh, this could explain why Smoker is still at Hogwarts when Hunter is there, because she's a bit older than Hunter. Although it doesn't really explain the presence of Charger. Perhaps Charger could be the Care of Magical Creatures teacher?

I'm thinking far too much about this. THIS ISN'T EVEN A REAL FANDOM.

That's an ambiguous statement. Were you or Mr Pop naked? Or both of you? In fact, what were you hoping to achieve in this scenario?

I was naked, because I'd just got out of the bath. Iggy Pop was clothed, or at least as clothed as he ever is. He'd stolen my shampoo from the side of the bath and run off with it and I was trying to get it back.

I suppose I'll just have to ask David Cameron.

I love Hunter and Smoker, and I ship them like mad! I want them to somehow escape infection, and live happily ever after, and end up gradually falling into a relationship in a hilariously awkward way where Hunter never actually makes it clear whether she's deliberately flirting or just teasing, and Smoker never admits to anything more than a grudging tolerance until one day they realize they've been together for ten years and sleeping together for five, and everyone in their little survivor community thinks of them as married.

This is a lovely scenario! I'm absurdly pleased that you like Hunter and Smoker. And, yes, Smoker would somehow manage to mentally dissociate 'living and sleeping with Hunter' from 'being in a relationship with Hunter'.

IT'S REALLY BAD THAT I HAVE NO QUALMS ABOUT CAMERON/CLEGG. Like, I don't actively ship it. But I think it's totally normal for anyone else to.

Ahahaha, I know, right? My plan after I read the first set that Riona linked was "STEP ONE: MAKE FRIENDS WITH THIS PERSON SO I CAN WRITE FIC ABOUT HER CHARACTERS STEP TWO: ... STEP THREE: PROFIT!!!"

Then I remebered what a pain in the ass making friends with someone is and, you know, scrapped that plan.

I did consider the "Hi, I want to be your friend - and by 'be your friend', I mean 'write fic about your characters'. Is that okay?" approach, but it's weird, and I have erratic luck with the whole "Hi, you seem cool, can I be your friend?" thing.

I don't know the creator personally, although I've been a fan of her work since I was twelve, and it does seem as if writing fanfiction about her characters might be a bit of an odd thing to do. But, on the other hand, it doesn't seem she'd mind; she certainly seems enthusiastic when other people draw them. I'm thinking of perhaps writing some fic and then asking her whether she'd mind if I posted it.

THEY ARE A FANDOM ON THEIR OWN. But what Pokemon would Hunter have? I am inclined to say Pikachu, as it is small and energetic and a wee bit catlike (even though it is technically a mouse shut up it always looked a bit catlike to me). Also it is very cute and if you are a person who wears cat ears you are probably a person who likes cute things.

I thought perhaps Hunter could have a Taillow, as they are tiny but fierce. (Meaning, now that I think about it, that she would have the same Pokémon as Nick Clegg. Hmmm.) A mammalian Pokémon might suit her more, though. Her creator thinks she might have a Sneasel, and I can definitely see that.
