To Summarise My Feelings In Exuberant Song.

I just watched 'My Lunch', the latest episode of Scrubs.

Well, the first part was fantastically fun, as it always is. The Todd sidestory was a bit weak, but the main one was brilliant all the way through, even though the way in which it was brilliant had changed completely by the end. I loved JD trying to force Cox to have lunch with him - he is so incredibly ridiculously adorable. I love him so much. (Also, of course: eee! JD/Cox!) And riding on top of Cox's car! "EAGLE!"

And then there was the sudden emotional turnaround, when JD thought that he could have saved Jill if he'd only focused more on her instead of just trying to get away from her, and oh, JD, I love you so much, and I love the fact that Cox was willing to be there for him when it was something so important.

...and then there was the ending, with Cox realising what had happened and breaking down emotionally and oh.

Seriously, it's a sitcom. It shouldn't be able to do things like that to me. So often an episode will be lovely and silly and hilarious and then suddenly it's a complete emotional punch to the gut. It was like that with 'My Screwup', which hit me incredibly hard and made me think about death in entirely new ways, and 'My Lunch' is another of those episodes in which Scrubs affects me far more severely than a sitcom has any right to.

"I was... obsessed with getting us organs." "...he wasn't about to die, was he, Newbie? ...could have waited another month for a kidney." Oh, Cox. JD, give him a hug. Please. And there was the violence, and the desperation, and seriously, that scene absolutely broke my heart.

I have to see the next episode. I have to see the next episode. We almost never see Dr. Cox so broken and vulnerable - 'My Screwup' is the only other episode I can think of that comes close - and so, when something does happen to destroy him, it has so much emotional impact. I really hope he gets through this. I really have to stop caring so much about fictional characters, dammit.

...

Dr. Cox! Please don't destroy yourself! I love you!

In conclusion, Scrubs is three thousand different kinds of amazing, and I'm asking you all to please watch it. For me.

What happened in My Screwup again? A friend borrowed my Season 1&2 DVDs. But I do agree.... this episode was amazing, and it's the only one that came close to the episode when Ben dies.

I think what happenned was that Brendan Fraiser's character died and Cox was blaming JD? I might be wrong.
