Use Rock To Break Glass To Get Wrench To Break Glass To Get Rock.
Am I the last person in the world to discover 3D photographs? These are so cool. The viewing technique reminds me a bit of Magic Eye pictures, so if you know how to see those you may have a head-start. Human vision is crazy!
On a less positive note: why is there so much Final Fantasy XIII fanart in which Hope is a big manly man and Lightning is blushingly submitting to him? No, seriously, I do not understand. This Hope? This Lightning? Really?
Hope Seduces Lightning: A Fic
Hope: Uh... Light? I was wondering - is it okay if I ask you something?
Lightning: Hm?
Hope: ...uh, never mind.
I learnt recently that Hope's voice actor also voices Phineas Flynn in Phineas and Ferb. This is delightful to me. I want Phineas to meet Hope and teach him about making the most of every day. There's a hundred and four days of Focus-pursuing; Cie'thhood comes along just to end it...
In subsequent poking through voice credentials, I also discovered that Snow's voice actor is voicing James Sunderland in an HD rerelease of Silent Hill 2. I don't know whether to be terrified or laugh forever. Has anyone written fanfiction in which Snow heads into Silent Hill to find Serah? Do it now; I'll wait. (I went to see if I could find anything about the remake on YouTube, and I found this preview, if anyone's curious about the new voices.)
Come to think of it, Cie'th wouldn't be at all out of place in Silent Hill. (Those Seekers? The monsters that basically consist of a head and an arm? I freaked out when one dropped a Cie'th Tear and I realised it had been a person once.) It's generally tougher to write Silent Hill crossovers with a character that already has experience of the horrific. Plus, although Snow certainly has psychological weak spots into which the town could twist a sharpened paperclip, I'm having trouble imagining why it would want to. Not a man with much darkness in his soul, Snow Villiers.
I think what I've learnt today is that 'shared voice actors' does not necessarily an unshakable foundation for a crossover make.
But it's still an awfully tempting one.
(EDIT: Today, I asked my brother to put some plates in the washing machine.
He did exactly that.
I really need to think more before I speak.)

Also, plates in the washing machine= classic. Were you sleepy when you said that? I frequently do things of such ludicrous nature, but I never have a good excuse for my brain's eccentricities.

Clank: (looking at the wrench case) It says 'In case of emergency, break glass to get wrench.'
Ratchet: (prepares to break the glass with his wrench)
Clank: (having moved on to the rock case) Hold on! This one says 'Use rock to break glass to get wrench to break glass to get rock.' Ooh, I love logic puzzles! Let's see... (crashing offscreen, shards fly into view) ...if you break the glass with the—
Ratchet: (holding the new wrench) Solved it.

Not that tired; I'm just constantly getting the washing machine and the dishwasher confused. The exchange between me and my brothers went something like this:
Riona: Joseph, could you put those plates in the washing machine, please?
(Joseph picks up the plates)
Fred: ...the washing machine?
Riona: ...DON'T PUT THEM IN THE WASHING MACHINE.
Joseph: Too late; I'm going to do the first thing you said.
I obviously assumed he was joking, but an hour or two later I went downstairs, washed my hands in the scullery-facing bathroom, turned around and there the plates were, wedged in the entrance to the washing machine.
My brothers.

Hee hee hee! Adorable. I will totally use this technique to make me less annoyed the next time I run into that.
I really, really enjoyed how much FFXIII was about non-romantic love. It's so hard to find stories that have friendship-type love and sibling-type love and parent-child and mentor-student love! And to have all these wonderful dynamics between such a lovable, three-dimensional cast! ♥
Spoilers for that Silent Hill HD preview: Holy crap, Squeem and I just watched that and laughed ourselves to tears.

Yes! The focus on non-romantic love was a good part of the reason I adored the game so much. Non-romantic love is my favourite. And the group felt much more tightly bound than in many of the previous games, because the scriptwriters obviously knew the nature of all the inter-group relationships, rather than just 'these two fall in love and the others are there'.
I was so moved by James' performance. So very, very moved.

(And then I came across these dramatic readings of Facebook reactions to the trailer. Some are better than others, but the 'we pay sixty Euros for this' one is just perfect.)
