I tend to get attached, want the story to go in a direction that's probably never going to happen, and get disproportionately annoyed when it doesn't. (Basically, I want to be the Doctor, so I always want new companions to travel and go "Yes, I want to go everywhere, see everything, and do impressively heroic things with my life!" and go forth and do that, without romantic feelings being central to where their stories go. Which is probably not going to happen with Clara, but the whole scattered-through-time thing is interestingly strange enough that it might?)
