Coming Up With Spoiler-Free Titles May Also Prove Troublesome.
I don't want to give away the order of worlds in Kingdom Hearts III, but how do I make it clear where I'm up to in my entries without saying which world I'm in? Hmm. Here are my thoughts on the second major world you visit: the one with the ingredient-gathering quest.
'I think Donald and I just fucked and it was incredible,' I said, regrettably, after the Sora-and-Donald fireworks attack.
Hayner and Pence and Olette! I'm very pleased to see these guys again.
That scene with Remy in the woods was very cute. Sora will help you! You don't need to control him! He'll help!
Remy looks like he came straight out of Ratatouille and into this game, and it's genuinely extraordinary to see.
I got slight chills when Sora, looking up at the mansion, flicked to Roxas and back again.
I love that Hayner is really passionate about finding Roxas despite being unable to remember him. Going 'gotta buy four pretzels instead of three', because he is determined not only to bring Roxas back but to be friends with him. If you told me 'hey, there's this guy named Boxas and he has memories of being your friend in an alternate universe,' I'd go 'wow, that sounds really rough for Boxas, but I think I need to get to know him before I can decide whether I'm his friend in this universe.' But Hayner believes absolutely that they're going to be friends.
I also love how useless Sora is with technology. 'Great! I can't computer, so... do that.'
Ansem saying 'you can only free Roxas if you give your heart to darkness and split into a Heartless and a Nobody again' and Sora going 'it's not darkness, not if it helps him' was really interesting. I also love Sora's absolute faith that Roxas's existence would still be real and worthwhile even inside a simulation.
Sora is so determined to save Roxas. He refuses to accept that his own existence has to be at Roxas's expense. I love him. What a good kid.
That 'find ingredients' bit was very poorly designed, and I had to look up the location of the final ingredient online (ALL THE OTHER EIGHT INGREDIENTS WERE IN WHITE BOXES, WHY WOULD JUST ONE NOT BE IN A WHITE BOX). At least the town was pretty, though.
While I was searching for ingredients, I think I heard someone say Seifer had gone off on a 'warrior's journey' with Raijin and Fujin. I hope they're having ridiculous adventures. (I never finished writing that fic about Kingdom Hearts Seifer and Hayner reluctantly travelling together!)
I hope we'll be seeing some Final Fantasy characters in this game! None have shown up in Olympus or Twilight Town, and those are two of the few worlds they've appeared in in previous titles. I'm loving Kingdom Hearts III so far, don't get me wrong, but it'd be good to see some Final Fantasy characters.
I can't believe scanning QR codes is a mechanic in Kingdom Hearts III.
I probably won't be making world-by-world entries for the entire game, but we'll see.
