I don't know why this surprises you given you live with dorm mates who were literally looking at your body readings while you sleep during the very beginning part of the game. :P
That is... a very good point. (In my draft of my first entry on this game, after 'Shuji's only just introduced himself and I already don't trust him', there was actually a line I wrote after hitting that scene: 'WOW, OKAY, GUESS I SHOULDN'T TRUST ANYONE HERE.' I ended up cutting it because I thought it might be too spoilery to put out in the open.)
I hadn't realised you were aware he was the predecessor of Yosuke and Ryuji, and wonder if that's altered your impression any
To be honest, it has; I slightly resent him for not being Yosuke or Ryuji. Sorry you had to face unfair expectations from the start, Junpei! (Although my unfair expectations aren't necessarily insurmountable; after all, I expected to resent Yosuke for not being Ryuji and was startled when I fell in love with him instead.) My main impression of Junpei so far is that he has the 'issues about women' quality of the other two, but he lacks the insecurity and intense love for the protagonist that endeared them to me.
