In which reipan and myself discuss the Sirius-is-Pigwidgeon theory. No spoilers for Half-Blood Prince, because I have not read it and am fully prepared to eviscerate reipan if she should spoil me.


rionaleonhart: ...and Harry is Aberforth? ...what?
rionaleonhart: And Ron is Santa as well as Dumbledore.
reipan: Hats, stop reading the theories. xD
rionaleonhart: But... but... theories!
rionaleonhart: SIRIUS IS PIGWIDGEON.
reipan: O_O
reipan: Now this I have to hear.
rionaleonhart: I just made that one up, but now I must find evidence!
rionaleonhart: Right. Note that Sirius and Pigwidgeon are never in the same place at the same time.
rionaleonhart: Pigwidgeon only arrives after they have met and spoken to Sirius, and is in fact sent from Sirius.
rionaleonhart: Sirius never actually says "I AM NOT PIGWIDGEON, DAMN YOU."
reipan: Ummm....neither does Hermione.
rionaleonhart: Sirius must have turned into Pigwidgeon in order to keep an eye on Harry. He actually stays with Ron because he suspects that perhaps Pettigrew will return to The Burrow.
rionaleonhart: Hermione becomes Pigwidgeon following Sirius' death.
reipan: Filch never says it either.
rionaleonhart: Yeah, well, Filch is crazy.
reipan: Ron hasn't said it either...and nor has Ginny...or Molly Weasley...OH DEAR GOD THE WHOLE WORLD IS PIGWIDGEON!
rionaleonhart: And, by logical extension, Pigwidgeon is the Half-Blood Prince.
reipan: xDDDD
rionaleonhart: Unless Filch is, because Filch is the only person who isn't Pigwidgeon. Or Dudley. Dudley is Hedwig.
rionaleonhart: I was going to say 'And Mrs Norris is actually Mrs Norris! OMG PLOT TWIST!' but then I remembered that Mrs Norris is actually Hermione.
reipan: I think you have sunstroke.
rionaleonhart: Now that she's Pigwidgeon, I'm not sure whether she'll find time to be Hermione and Mrs Norris as well. I suppose you've noticed that either Hermione or Mrs Norris (or possibly both) has a considerably reduced role in HBP?
rionaleonhart: Unless she still has that Time-Turner.
reipan: *sighs*
reipan: Head, meet desk. *whack*

Crookshanks, Crookshanks, Crookshanks... *thinks*... oh, I've got it!

Crookshanks is James Potter.

Hey, he's always hanging around with Sirius, isn't he? And he launched himself at Scabbers in the petshop, because I don't expect he'd be too thrilled to see the person who got himself and his wife killed hanging around his son. That also had the advantage of drawing Hermione's attention to him, so she bought him and he had a means of staying close to Harry. And his face looks 'grumpy and oddly squashed', because THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN AN AVADA KEDAVRA SPELL, INSTEAD OF KILLING YOU, TURNS YOU INTO A CAT. DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE RIONA.

Interestingly enough, Crookshanks=James was my theory in the third book from when Sirius was revealed right up until the point where they told what animal he was. (Seriously, when they didn't tell Harry what animal James was, I thought 'OMG HE WAS A CAT AND HE'S CROOKSHANKS AND HE'LL REVEAL HIMSELF ANY MINUTE NOW OMGYES.)
