Awww, I Hate Papaya.
I just caught the last five minutes of the House episode 'Acceptance', and all of my love for Cameron in the first two seasons just came flooding back to me. Bless you, Cameron; bless you and your little caring-too-much heart. I don't think I'm ever going to forgive the writers for Season Three. I really miss loving Cameron.
Come to think of it, my relationship with Cameron is a bit like my relationship with Captain Jack Harkness. I adored Jack in the Ninth Doctor's series of Doctor Who, and then Torchwood ruined him for me. In Riona's Happy Mental Canon World, season three of House never happened (with the possible exception of 'Fools for Love', because Foreman is adorable in it) and Jack went off to have adventures with Balthier and Fran immediately after 'Parting of the Ways'. Torchwood is parodic fanfiction Balthier wrote to make fun of Jack.
...actually, I like to pretend the shift in JD's characterisation after the fourth season of Scrubs never happened either. Man, I hadn't realised I had so much discontinuity! (The musical episode can stay. I mean, the JD in it still isn't the JD I love, but the episode as a whole is awesome enough to make up for that. And wasn't 'My Lunch' in the fifth season? Yeah, that can stay too. Actually, I missed most of the sixth season and I've only seen the last episode of the seventh, so if JD returns to his original adorable competent-but-dorky self please let me know!)
On a more cheerful note, I love that Top Gear is a real-person fandom in which people are forced to post warnings if it turns out that a particular character isn't an alien. Hee. Also, I've been watching a little more Avatar (I think I've seen the first sixteen episodes now), and it continues to be utterly charming! Sokka and Uncle Iroh are particularly wonderful. (ALSO IN EPISODE SIXTEEN SOKKA GETS ANGRY ABOUT INJURY TO HIS SISTER. Oh, Avatar, you know that sibling relationships are pretty much guaranteed to rope me in, don't you?)

*hugs uncle Iroh*
He will be awesome forever, just so you know. And Zuko will grow on you, I promise!
Wait until season 2, Toph will rock you! (Pun not actually intended.)
I'm sorry for ranting, but I know so few people who like Avatar, because the fandom is mean and crazy, so I rant where I can.

First, he looks so much better without the ponytail. Second, he's so cute when being a big dork, which will happen more and more.

That is the best phrase I have read all day.

Hang on a moment; I'll get you the code for hiding text so you can post spoilers without worrying.
EDIT: Here you go. Anything you write between the 'div' brackets will be unreadable unless highlighted.

"Oo. I wonder what that means..."
*sun rises*
"Shit."
I've managed to write out the six Holmes stories I don't like from my own mental canon because they are, frankly, shit and you can feel how resentful ACD was to still be writing Holmes after all that bloody time. Creeping Man? Never happened. Lion's Mane? Can get stuffed. Mind you, given that the fandom seems to keep its collective mind in Autumn 1895, this seems almost reasonable.

AND THE ADVENTURE OF THE LION'S MANE IS THE WORST THING EVER.

As far as I'm concerned, that Discontuity list has some good points regarding Doctor Who and Torchwood.
Season 3 of House was WEIRD. What was the entire point of that thing they did to House relating to his injury if they were going to undo it after only a couple of episodes? Why?

Argh, I don't even know. Season Three did weird things to pretty much all the chracters (I'm still particularly bitter, of course, that it threw Cameron's characterisation to the ground and danced upon it), and by the end of it I was thinking that that was it, House had jumped the shark, I would never be truly fannish about it again.
And then there was the MAGICAL SEASON FOUR CENTRAL CAST OVERHAUL and somehow it saved the show.
I'm always going to sort of admire the House writers, in spite of what they did to my beloved Cameron, because it is so difficult to burst back into 'awesome' territory after slipping like that.

Thank you, you have just immeasurably improved Torchwood-Jack for me!

DW!Jack over Torchwood!Jack any day of the week, for sure. Of course, my interest went kaput before I made it to the first season finale of Torchwood, so maybe I should keep my opinions about that to myself.
I have a similar problem with Scrubs as I do with House- it's all just kind of a blur now. I'm sure first few seasons!JD is very different from last few seasons!JD, but I wouldn't be able to site specific examples. Especially since I haven't seen most of the last.. two seasons? *shrugs*
We-ell, I've been keeping my eye on

I'm not sure whether I'm going to watch Torchwood next year, because there have been maybe four or five episodes I've actually liked. I'm probably going to end up watching it anyway and shouting 'WHY AM I WATCHING THIS RUBBISH?' at the screen, which was pretty much how I spent this year's series as well.
The Top Gear fandom has more crackfic in it than any other fandom I've ever been involved in, Supernatural possibly excepted. And it's a real-person fandom. I love that.

I love My Lunch, although I can't watch it, because "How To Save A Life" was already a song that got to me far too much (as opposed To "Carry On My Wayward Son" which can actually make me cry when it's used to start a Supernatural season finale, but is entirely forgettable everywhere else).
I love that in Top Gear fandom, alien mindsex isn't considered crack. And I definitely find human!Stig fic weird and a bit unsettling. It's like finding out that his genitals are right-side up, and he isn't afraid of ducks! Or that he didn't rip his own face up for a guest appearance on Doctor Who! Just weird!
