I'm up to the strip club dungeon in Persona 4 Golden! (The phrase 'strip club dungeon' may be slightly misleading. It's not a sex dungeon; it's a dungeon in the RPG sense of 'area you battle your way through', which happens to be themed after a strip club.)
Chie is definitely in love with Yukiko. It's entirely possible everyone is in love with everyone in our little squad.
'So, like, that means you came out to everyone too?' Kanji asks Yukiko when he remembers she was also a target in this case. Aww, Kanji.
Don't slap him, Yukiko! He just thought you were someone he might be able to relate to!
I love how enormously Yukiko enjoys the joke glasses. There's absolutely no reason anyone should laugh so much at them, but she's going to, and I respect that.
I also love Kanji struggling in his efforts to change his troublemaking ways. 'I'm gonna tear your store apart so fast you won't have time to file for insurance! Oh, uh, well... I'm gonna tear it apart and rebuild it twice as good! I-I'm gonna RENOVATE your ass!'
Very charmed by how ferociously loyal Kanji is. We saved him, and now he would do anything for us.
pict informed me that Kanji is voiced by Troy Baker, and now all I can hear when he speaks is Snow Villiers. It'd be interesting to see them meet. (There's some very strong voice acting in this game, particularly for the PS2 era! Still a bit dubious about Chie, though.)
'Your motorcycle looks cool, and you don't look so bad yourself,' Yosuke says. I just want to be able to reciprocate when characters are clearly in love with me, Persona! Is that really so much to ask?
Yosuke is losing points in my esteem on the camping trip. Yosuke, of course we are safe with Kanji. We're all going to make out, obviously, but it is going to be fully consensual.
It has not escaped my notice that Yosuke's started going 'WOW, GIRLS ARE GREAT, RIGHT, I SURE AM INTO GIRLS EXCLUSIVELY, LET'S DISCUSS TITS' non-stop right after we went through the magical bathhouse full of gay symbolism. I'm on to you, Yosuke.
( A couple of lines of speculation on the murder mystery. )
I discovered a cat and was given the options 'Pet it' and 'Deny it pets'. (I did not deny it pets, because I'm not a monster, and I got the wonderful message 'Interacting with the cute little cat has calmed you and instilled you with a sense of gentleness.')
There is also, as in Final Fantasy XV, a quest where the protagonist sees a cat, decides it looks hungry and makes it his mission to feed it fresh fish.
The Persona 4 protagonist does not have the clear sense of personality we get from the Persona 5 protagonist, but I can tell you one thing about him: he loves cats. Good.
