Your Approach To Sudoku Is Clearly Rather Gung-Ho.

An entry of bullet points today, some of which are not about Waterloo Road!

- I dreamt a couple of nights ago that I ruffled Kurt Hummel's hair and it was incredibly satisfying.

- I have taken to exclaiming 'OH NOOOO' in delighted horror whenever a terrible plot development comes to light in Waterloo Road. This happens a lot. A pupil develops a crush on a teacher! OH NOOOO. One teacher inadvertently breaks up another's family! OH NOOOO. The exception is when I'm actually seriously emotionally invested in a storyline; I am far too busy wanting to hug Josh unconscious whenever something goes wrong in his relationship with his father to make fun of his pain.

- Waterloo Road is very reluctant to embrace the concept of bisexuality, it seems. Both Ros and Josh, despite having previously shown interest in the opposite sex, are labelled unambiguously as gay after developing an interest in a member of the same sex. Odd.

- Finn, I now know from watching his relationship with Amy progress, is an absolute controlling bastard nutcase. It makes me wonder what poor Josh would have gone through had Finn actually been receptive to his advance. You don't want a relationship with Finn, Josh; he will make you brand his name on your chest and punch your father in the face to prove your love. I do sort of want to read fanfiction about their incredibly unhealthy relationship, though. It could very well make me cry, particularly if Josh's relationship with Tom suffers for it.

- Perhaps I should write fanfiction about Josh and Tom? I haven't written much about parent-child relationships, but I've really fallen for this one. (In case there is any doubt, I am using 'relationship' in a platonic sense.)

- Overheard in my life recently: 'Harry, a sperm bank isn't a bank where you, like, put your sperm up as collateral.' Also, a man on the train whose ringtone was a child saying 'Dad, I'm in your pocket!'

- Rather lonely and bored at the moment, as perhaps evidenced by my incessant updating, but my housemate should be returning over the weekend and I've booked an appointment with an advisor who will hopefully be able to help me find one of those elusive job things. Fingers crossed.

- Just stumbled across the following note to self amongst some of my old university notes:

DEAR RIONA: PLEASE DO NOT POKE YOURSELF IN THE EYE.
PLEASE.
YOU LIKE YOUR EYE.

...sound advice, Past Riona?

Good luck with that. I tried for ages before I got one, but it's interesting and lets me switch countries every few years so I don't get too bored.

You might get something more normal, though. Most people are more capable of obtaining normal jobs than I am.

DEAR RIONA: PLEASE DO NOT POKE YOURSELF IN THE EYE.
PLEASE.
YOU LIKE YOUR EYE.

Very wise.

I'd hire you as an eye-poking avoidance adviser! Er, if that was a real job.

a man on the train whose ringtone was a child saying 'Dad, I'm in your pocket!'

I have no idea why I find this so delightful.

Good luck with jobthings! Also, I overheard a wonderful snippet of conversation on Egham station the other day which was, solely, "is Batman a detective?" I like to think that the two very, very scene kids who were talking about it had a raging debate on the subject throughout the day.

You're very welcome.

He could be like Springheel Jack! Only in stead of randomly scaring people, he could fight crime!

I am sorry I did not call you back! It ended up being rather late before I got home and I didn't want to wake you up.

...*fidgets*

I completely misread your first point as you dreamt you had Kurt's hair and it was incredibly satisfying.

a man on the train whose ringtone was a child saying 'Dad, I'm in your pocket!'

I. LOVE. THIS.

So cute! OMG I want to squish this family so much.

(Now kind of I want to write the story about Brooker's quest to create custom voice ringtones for all of his friends... and DMitchell's would be him saying, very dry, "For reasons beyond comprehension I've apparently decided to call you.")

'Harry, a sperm bank isn't a bank where you, like, put your sperm up as collateral.'

Due to entirely too much time on the Sherlock fic meme, I'm now picturing this conversation somehow involving Harry Watson.

[identity profile] amy-wolf.livejournal.com 2010-10-02 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
They should put Harry on the show so John and Sherlock can engage in "My annoying sibling is worse than your annoying sibling" one-upmanship.

I had a teacher in high school who's youngest son set her phone's ring to, "Mom, pick up the phone! Moooom, pick up the phone!" over and over again, and she didn't know how to change it.

XD I like that other ring tone better though. I'm envisioning a tiny child yelling and it is adorable.

Out of curiosity, these uni notes...they were for which class?

I thought I was getting over WR fandom, but knowing that the vast multitude of plotbunnies within might just have an appreciative audience... *chews pen thoughtfully and bats away encroaching NaNoWriMo*
I'd read some bonding!Tom and Josh in the meantime, however.

I had a major soft spot for Ros/Phil so I was disappointed when they didn't even consider her being bi.
What I have been rooting for for two series now is an asexuality storyline. I'm just curious as to how they'd handle that.

DEAR RIONA: PLEASE DO NOT POKE YOURSELF IN THE EYE.

This made me laugh probably far more than it should. Excellent advice, though.

*Crosses fingers* Here's hoping!

It's odd, and a shame. Heh. Yeah... something along the lines of a pupil being under peer pressure regarding having a boyfriend/girlfriend/sex or what have you, perhaps? Idk. Probably will never come up anyhow. XD

I heard that Sarah-Jane Potts "couldn't take another series" whatever that's supposed to mean, lol. As for Jo, she hit the Void of Obscurity pretty damn hard, right along with a lot of Series 4's cast. Too bad; I love the character and actress. (I remember her from Sugar Rush. Great show. <3)
It's kind of strange actually because they had the storyline with her and Ros right there as a possible means of providing her with a dramatic/scandalous exit.

You're not going on the Sherlock anonymous fic meme and suggesting crossovers with Kingdom Hearts, are you?

Because I saw that prompt, and I went "Riona?"

[identity profile] amy-wolf.livejournal.com 2010-10-03 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
Sherlock is a Nobody. John has a special sword hidden away in the flat. And Jim Moriarty heads up a very secret organization...

This has lead to a debate over whether Sherlock is Sora or not. I'm not really following it, but it made me think of you.

Riona, when you describe Waterloo Road it sounds remarkably similar to my roleplay, but without the zombies, vampires, werebeagles, and Scott Bakula.
