This Is Well Psycho.
Oh, Chris. I've said all these glowing things about you, but you're such an emotional blackmailer, aren't you? Lovely most of the time, but if you and someone you're interested in have differing opinions on whether you should be going out you become so petulant.
...and, of course, after typing that I watched the final episode of series five and came out of it adoring you again. You're a good guy really, Chris; you're just a good guy who shouldn't be allowed within a mile of anyone you're romantically interested in.Obviously hatesex is the answer. Finn is right there.
Having now watched all the Josh Stevenson episodes to date (he and his dad still haven't hugged, what the hell, guys, you have let me down), I may now stop constantly posting entries about this thing three of you watch. Or I may start posting even more in the absence of canon to appease me! We'll have to wait and see. How exciting.
...right, I have now gone back to the very beginning, so perhaps a cessation of entries is too much to hope for.
Oh, my goodness, Tom is so young in the first episode of Waterloo Road. It's freaking me out. Also, I thought before that he and his son didn't have much of a physical resemblance, but I can really see it in Weird Young Tom.
Weird Young Tom is sort of a dick, actually, isn't he? CHRIS AND KAREN AND NOW YOU, TOM. WATERLOO ROAD CHARACTERS ALWAYS BETRAY ME.
...and then the third episode is the most distressing thing ever. WEIRD YOUNG TOM I'M SORRY I CALLED YOU A DICK. I mean, you are a dick, but that doesn't keep my heart from breaking for you. In the future you're going to become a better person and you'll meet Josh and, all right, that's not going to go entirely smoothly, but good things are going to happen for you, Tom, sometimes, I promise.
The entire Tom-Lorna storyline is a big bundle of heartbreak, really. Never before have I seen a fictional relationship collapse so swiftly and brutally.
(Waterloo Road, stop making me shout abuse at characters one moment and exclamations of concern and love the next. You're making me look ridiculous.)
Oh, hang on, I haven't considered what houses Waterloo Road characters would be in at Hogwarts! How remiss of me. Tom, who is always the one who runs in to physically break up fights, would be in Gryffindor, and I can see Lauren in there as well. Max, naturally, would be in Slytherin, as would Finn, Amy, Ruby, Michaela and Jess. I think both Rachel and Karen would be in Hufflepuff; apparently Waterloo Road likes Hufflepuff headmistresses. Sam and possibly Josh are also in Hufflepuff. Nobody is in Ravenclaw, because everyone in Waterloo Road is a bit of an idiot. Actually, that's not quite true; I could see Jo as the head of Ravenclaw, and Ruth and Ros would probably be in there.
This crossover I'm really not going to write. I lied about the Pokémon crossover, yes, but this time it's true.

Yeah, Tom was kind of a twat.
Lorna has some serious issues, but you do kinda feel sorry for her.
(What do you think of first series Grantley? They seem to have mellowed him out as of this season, but he used to be a total unapologetic dick.) And how many characters do you actually recognise, for that matter? (And doesn't Janeece look young?).
no subject
Oh, Lorna. She makes such bad decisions, but she's in such a horrible situation that I can't entirely blame her for it. Poor woman.
(Grantley is a dick, but he does have some great lines, so I have to smile at him on occasion.
Janeece is so young! I can recognise Janeece, Steph, Tom, Grantley and Kim, but I think that's it. That's more than I'd thought it would be, actually.)

ironically enough, I've finished watching the first series as wellI'[m just hopping onto the second series now.I felt so sorry for weird!young!Tom during the whole Tom-Lorna-Izzy thing, but yeah - he was a bit of a dick. An alluringly weird dick, but a dick none the less. Also, I have to say that Janeece, after a few episodes, is my favourite character. She's just so dense sometimes that it's adorable :3

And yes, I first thought Tom Riddle. Although him I would be less inclined to fling forgiveness at ^^
...argh that is a weird sentence! o.0

Nobody is in Ravenclaw, because everyone in Waterloo Road is a bit of an idiot.
I think that's why, even in the actual books, we rarely see Ravenclaw students. Replace Waterloo Road with Hogwarts.

Each series represents a year. Tom is Weird Young Tom at the beginning (but by 'young' I mean 'around thirty', not, say, twelve), and then, five series later:
Waterloo Road: (merges with another school, John Foster's)
Headmistress: All right, let's start mingling! Introduce yourself to someone from the other school, everyone!
John Foster's Student: Hi; I'm Josh.
Tom: Mr Clarkson.
Josh: ...Tom Clarkson?
Tom: ...no: Mr.
(some time later)
Tom: Josh! Why do you keep posting these pictures of me and an ex-girlfriend all over the school?
Josh: She's my mum.
Tom: What?
Josh: I'm your son.
Tom: What?
Josh: Surprise!

That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard take place in a show.
--is what I wish I could say. But alas, it is not even close. Perhaps in the top twenty. Still! Quite ridiculous!
AND IT IS ALWAYS POOR JOSH.

I love Lorna. She's so wonderfully tragic. <3
Andrew Treneman may place well in Ravenclaw too, although there's perhaps a dash of Gryffindor in there.
(Hey, actually... they do introduce an actual house system for a while in Waterloo Road a little later on, I just remembered.)
no subject
Ooh, I think Andrew would be a Ravenclaw, yes. (The moment the house system showed up I started thinking of them as the Hogwarts houses. The most visible ones are Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, in a startling reversal of the actual Harry Potter books. I'm not sure Kingfisher parallels Ravenclaw terribly well, but they were bang on making Janeece a Hufflepuff.)
