I Have A Present For You! It's Bullet Points!

Regarding the most recent Glee episode, 'Pot o' Gold':

- noooo I really don't like Quinn at all now and this makes me really sad because she was one of my favourites in the first series. What happened to you, Quinn?

- On the other hand, I accidentally love Shelby/Puck, so I suppose something good is coming out of this Quinn storyline.

- Santana is now one of my favourite characters. Almost everything she says is hilarious! She's a pretty awful person, yes, but she's a pretty awful person with style. And I love her love for Brittany. (Brittany is everything good about the world to her!)

- I also seem to have become strangely fond of Mike in all his mostly-silent glory. I didn't actually realise this until he got up to dance during Blaine's number and my immediate reaction was 'yay!'

- Incidentally, Blaine's number ('Last Friday Night'): really addictive.

- Santana's 'OH, YES, IT'S GOING TO BE THE RACHEL AND BLAINE SHOW' perplexed me, because, you know, Blaine has only just joined the New Directions. There hasn't been time for Schuester to obviously favour him yet. It took me a moment to realise that the Glee writers were criticising themselves through Santana for giving Blaine so many songs. It's good to show self-awareness, Glee writers, but please do it in a way that makes sense in-universe, because otherwise it gives the strange impression that Santana somehow watches Glee.

- please be friends again Rachel and Kurt, your friendship was the best :(

- (My never-posted notes on 'Asian F': Ian Brennan, why do you hate nice things? The Rachel-Kurt and Rachel-Mercedes friendships are two of my favourite dynamics in Glee. I can't believe you stamped all over both in one episode. Except I can, because you are Ian Brennan and you hate nice things.)

- Burt Hummel is also the best. I loved the cut to him talking to Figgins.

- I found myself really liking Puck in this episode, which surprised me a bit; he's never really interested me before. This may be in part related to my accidentally loving Shelby/Puck, but it can't be entirely Shelby/Puck-related, because I found myself thinking 'hmmm, I'm really liking Puck here, how did that happen?' well before I found myself shouting 'MAKE OUT' at the screen.

- And they actually made out! How often does that work?

- SHELBY/PUCK IS AN INCREDIBLY ILL-ADVISED PAIRING, WHY AM I SO DELIGHTED BY IT

Also, have some brief thoughts on episode 7.18 of Waterloo Road:

- Why do I find it so attractive when Michael Byrne furiously shoves teenagers against walls and gets up in their faces? It's a bit worrying.

- Josh actually got a line in the most recent episode! Amazing! I was starting to wonder whether he'd evaporated.

- Does Emily really think of Scout as a sister? Really? Are you sure? Because if so, wow, I seriously misjudged that relationship. I love surrogate sibling dynamics, but having one dropped suddenly on my head is a bit startling when I've spent so much time in the full belief that two characters are leading up to making out. I was honestly expecting Emily to kiss her in that scene.

I...I sort of really hate the Quinn storyline this season? Jeez, Glee, way to perpetuate the stupid idea that motherhood is the single most amazing thing that every woman should strive for and that if a girl gives up a baby for whatever reason then it automatically becomes a thing she regrets FOR EVER

although they did take it in an interesting direction with the whole "I need my baby back because she is my only achievement ever", which makes me think that the kid is not actually the issue here. Aw, hell, I just don't like children.

I agree with all of these points!

I really don't like the direction Quinn is heading. I just want her to be happy, and lovely, and not trying to ruin Shelby's life like in the good old days. I mean, it is sad that Quinn feels so bad about herself that she feels this baby is her only accomlishment in life (I mean, I can see why - she did this with Finn and.. well... We can see what happened there). I just want everybody to be friends again :<

I also loved the part where Santana is all like, "I'm just really happy" while on her 'date' with Brittney. AND THEN THEY HELD HANDS. UNDER A NAPKIN. ♥

And, yeah, I don't believe that Emily isn't totally lesbian for Scout. I just don't.

I agree - Quinn, in a sense, has lost a large part of herself, and I don't think it helps seeing the sort-of side effects of giving up a child through Rachel, possibly. So that, maybe, combined with how much she seems to hate herself and everything she's done and lost is just ... yeah. Not that I'm excusing her, or anything - what she's doing to Shelby is bad, and I hope they don't do what I think they're going to do and let Quinn live happily ever after because, not only is that just bad writing, but it'd be a bad message to send to the teens out there. Just saying.

XD! Scout, Scout, here is my coat, you can totes wear it and keep it because that's not, like, ever-so-slightly creepy or anything and when you've taken it off, I will wear it and it will forever smell like you ... I think I've taken it too far. I now want to write a fic about Emily being a massiver creeper/stalker/far too obsessed for her own good.
