I'm Going To Become A Super Tasty Pork Cutlet Bowl.
Your task is to cleverly deduce, from Rei's beautiful song (to the tune of Cabaret's 'Two Ladies'), what we've been watching lately:
Deedly dee-dee-dee, two Yuris,
Deedly dee-dee-dee, two Yuris,
Deedly dee-dee-dee, and I'm the only Victor.
Deedly dee-dee-dee, I like it,
Deedly dee-dee-dee, they're less keen...
We're three episodes in!
Yuri!!! on ICE is both very cute and very odd. Strangely, I think the character I'm most emotionally invested in might be the hostile fifteen-year-old who's incapable of walking past a tiger T-shirt without buying it, taking a selfie and posting it on Instagram. Although I'm very charmed by Yuri (er, Yuri Katsuki; this is going to be tricky) getting flustered around Victor. And of course Victor is constantly being as flustering as possible. Give the poor boy a moment's peace!
About six weeks ago, I was challenged to write a Yuri!!! on ICE fic without having seen a single episode, using only the bits and pieces I'd picked up from other people talking about it. What I produced was this:
Victor pirouetted on the ice, his possibly silver hair whipping gracefully around him. Yuri gazed with longing from the edge of the rink. How could he dare to ask this legendary performer to tutor him in the ways of skating? It seemed impossibly arrogant.
Yuuri, who was not Yuri but a small child who nobody was allowed to ship with anyone, skipped merrily past as small children do.
Suddenly, Victor pirouetted straight up to Yuri! Yuri had no idea how to react. This man was his hero. How could Victor stoop to notice someone like him?
He had even less of an idea of how to react when Victor seized him and dipped him in a deep kiss. Yuri's glasses fell off and shattered on the ice.
"Let me tutor you," Victor purred. "Also, let's get married."
"O-okay," Yuri stammered. "Can I get my glasses fixed first?"
"No," Victor breathed fondly.
Now that I've actually seen some of this show, I'm impressed by my own accuracy. Well, merry skipping aside. Literally the only thing I knew about Yuri Plisetsky was that there were big arguments about whether it was morally wrong to write shipfic about him (it's not), so I didn't have much to work from there. He'd be furious if he saw this.

(I so can't do long anime series-- my patience isn't that long enough *blinking lights*attention span of a gnat*blinking lights*)

(Both of those examples are pretty dark, though, so I'm not necessarily recommending them if you're on the hunt for more short series. I don't know how dark your tastes run.)
I hope you enjoy Yuri!!! on ICE, if you do watch it! (I probably don't need to do the exclamation marks and capitalisation every time I write the title, but they amuse me.)

I actually decided to watch Princess Tutu after seeing the AMV of it called "Hold Me Now"-- really if you haven't seen that AMV, you need to give it a looksie; it's the most metal Princess Tutu AMV I've ever seen.
And I recall Madoka being one of the last animes I've ever watched (well aside from Tales of Zestiria the X which I watched with my boyfriend and of course Sailor Moon Crystal). Anime isn't really a priority for me anymore since I have so many other things that I have to/want to do-- and anime doesn't rank up there (but video games-- aw yeah!)
Thanks for the recommendation! Maybe this weekend-- maybe (here's hoping!)

I looked it up and there is Yuri and Yuuri? Is there also Yuri?

According to the official Crunchyroll subtitles, there's Yuri and Yuri, but I think some fans call them Yuri and Yuuri to differentiate them. (In the fic I wrote before actually watching it, I mistakenly used 'Yuuri' for grumpy Russian teenager Yuri Plisetsky, when in fact Yuuri is apparently used for anxious Japanese adult Yuri Katsuki. It's probably not hugely surprising that I got confused on this point.)

Ah! So Younger Yuri is Yuri, and older Yuri is Yuuri, except he's actually also Yuri? Totally clear!

...I just typed that and thought 'I wonder what the Sense8 fandom is like these days' and checked the Tumblr tag, and someone had made a post about how Nomi marched at Pride for the sake of all the closeted people who were unable to, e.g. Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, so I suppose I have my answer!
(Being mocked by wallpaper?)

Yep! And I'm fairly sure the Yuri of the title is Yuuri Yuri rather than Yuri Yuri, but nobody calls it Yuuri on Ice.

(Someone thinks the kinds of wallpaper chosen by the show's production team to decorate 221b Baker Street is a subtle insult to Johnlock Conspiracy fans. I couldn't make heads or tails of why the wallpaper was insulting, even when they explained - they rattled off wallpaper types as if the insult were self-evident.)
Okay, someone may need to make Yuuri on Ice!!! To balance the confusion, you know.

That's a lie, I love Yuri K and Victor and Makkachin and YURIO'S UNNAMED BUT VERY HAPPY CAT but Yurio himself is super great. I also became very emotionally invested in him!
I hope you are able to finish it! I really love this show!!
(Anyway before I started watching I thought first that Yurio might be a girl and second that he and Minami were actually the same person and I have no idea how that second one occurred.)

I'd somehow got it into my head that there was a kiss in episode 4, so I was a bit '???' when it didn't happen and then spent episodes 5 and 6 going 'maybe in this episode? ...no.' I think I need to forget about that and just appreciate what's on the screen, because what's on the screen is so great. Yuri shoving his face into Victor's and saying don't take your eyes off me! Victor draping himself over Yuri for no reason!

Yes, just watch! It is so great! They are so in love it is so ridiculous you don't even know. I am very excited for you to get to episode 10, that one is really good.

I also enjoyed your mini-fic. Victor breathing fondly is very Victor.
