Stupid Sexy Okino.
Can't believe I went an entire day without posting about 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. It's getting increasingly difficult to specify where I'm up to, but here's some talk about Miura, Megumi, Hijiyama and Ogata's routes.
Excuse me, 2188 Miura had the Kurabe house reproduced for 2188 Tamao Kurabe? What's going on? Are we in a simulation of some sort?
Tamao is an AI expert. Are we all AIs???

WHAT IS GOING ON
Given the personality replacement technology, it would be possible for the characters to have been created as AIs, but to now be in actual living human bodies. Hmm.
MEGUMI'S THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SEE FLUFFY
'A CHARACTER CAN PERCEIVE SOMEONE NO ONE ELSE SEES AND ISN'T SURE WHETHER IT'S REAL' IS YET ANOTHER OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS IN FICTION
Hijiyama blushing when he overhears Miwako saying he's cool is very cute.
I am grinning RIDICULOUSLY at Okino confessing to Ogata, and at Hijiyama getting jealous. I have absolutely no idea what's going on, but I'm having so much fun!
And then Okino giving Hijiyama shit for being jealous! And Hijiyama awkwardly trying to go 'you can like whoever you like, it's none of my business'!
I love how many hopeless blushing boys are in this game.
'HEY, UNTIE ME.' 'I mean, I've got the readout of your vital signs right here and, scientifically speaking, you're into this.' Incredible. I continue to be a huge fan of Hijiyama and Okino's weird relationship.
I like the very realistic detail that Megumi sees Hijiyama on the verge of collapse and, rather than approaching him straight away, keeps walking; her concern/curiosity only gets the better of her a few steps past this stranger, and she turns back to ask whether he's okay.
Hijiyama going 'you changed clothes?' and Okino going, 'Wow, I can feel the disappointment from here. Want me to get back into the skirt? It's just that the skirt's kind of breezy; I don't have much on underneath it. I can't just walk around in the wind and traffic like that. Just think of what could happen' is magical. I love that Okino is just non-stop fucking with Hijiyama.
Okino should meet Joshua of The World Ends with You. Or maybe not. I can't imagine that would go well for anyone.
Ohhhh, Ogata's time loop is a simulation! If immersive simulations are possible, that raises all sorts of questions about how real everything is. (In fact, I've just remembered that I asked 'Are we in a simulation of some sort?' earlier in this very entry.)
It's pretty cool to see the way the developments in these out-of-order scenes slowly start to link up!
