I Unsuccessfully Attempted To Cast An Amnesia Spell On The Staff.
I just remembered my stupid dream from a week or so ago, and now, unfortunately, you all have to hear about it.
It was a weird sexy dream about MY LEAST FAVOURITE CHARACTER IN DANGANRONPA, KAZUICHI SOUDA. I was one of my favourite characters, Mahiru Koizumi. (Koizumi/Souda is very much my personal Danganronpa NOTP.)
We were getting weirdly sexual in... a restaurant bathroom, so we were in public
BUT IT'S OKAY
WE CONCEALED OURSELVES UNDER A BLANKET, NOBODY WOULD SUSPECT A THING
(we were, I cannot stress this enough, standing up, with the blanket over our heads and bodies)
But the restaurant staff told us to get the fuck out of their restaurant! I don't understand how they saw through our clever disguise!
The end.
(I would like to reiterate that this was a dream.)
Because I absolutely cannot leave the entry at that, here are some overdue notes from my recent replay of the original Danganronpa, and my in-progress replay of Danganronpa 2!
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc: I love that Togami never does anything himself. There's a great moment where there's a fire that urgently needs to be put out, and Togami has a bucket of water, and he hands it to Naegi because only peasants put out fires.
It never occurred to me before, but Togami is clearly unhappy to accuse Naegi at the end of the fifth trial. '...I don't see any other option.' Togami's a much more interesting character to me this time around.
I'm pleased to report I still love Naegi. He's so determined to believe in people and he never, never, never gives up. He always tries to understand the people around him, even after they've committed murder; he doesn't have it in himself to wish ill on anyone. He's naïve and too reluctant to assert himself, but he's an extremely good kid.
Danganronpa 2: Sometimes I just reflect on how magnificent it is that the second game has a character who looks like Makoto Naegi, he dresses like Makoto Naegi, he has the same voice actor as Makoto Naegi, his name is an anagram of 'It's Makoto Naegi!', and he has absolutely no relationship to Makoto Naegi.
Caught myself smiling fondly as Komaeda raved on in the first trial. Komaeda being awful just brings me so much joy. He's deeply terrible and deeply fascinating.
I love Hinata so much. What a great protagonist. Every playthrough, I'm delighted anew when he agrees to pay 1.5 million dollars for a sticker so he doesn't have to watch Monokuma's film.
I love that he has absolutely no patience for Komaeda's bullshit, too.
Komaeda: Can you provide me with a summary of the incident? I need to reach the truth behind this incident. For the sake of dedicating my body to... an even greater hope...
Hinata: No.
Okay. Hopefully that's enough additional entry material and everyone's forgotten about the dream by now.

So the two of you just draped the blanket over your head like a ghost costume with no eyeholes?
I mean they don't know! You could have been bathroom sex ghosts!
That is incredible!
What dream? There was a dream?

(Anonymous) 2021-05-04 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)How can Kazuichi be your absolute least favourite character in a series with Hagakure and Teruteru? This is unthinkable.

huh, i don't think i remembered that. (i've also like, re-experienced the first 3 chapters of DR1 several times recently, either from watching a friend play or from rereading it for fanfic research reasons, but only those first 3 chapters. at some point i should rewatch/play chapters 4-6.)

(In particular, I didn't really remember Togami softening at all, and it turns out he softens very slightly.)

Hard to believe that it has been seven years since I first popped DR1 into my Vita! I still love the trilogy, and I need to replay it
