You Don't Get To Die Alone.
I'm technically up to episode 4.12 of Lost, but I want to finish the three-parter before I talk about it, so here are my notes up to episode 4.11, 'Cabin Fever'!
'The Shape of Things to Come': Hurley holding Aaron while playing board games is very cute.
Sawyer's reaction when Ben grabs the hidden gun is great: alarm swiftly turning to confusion when Ben hands it to him.
Claire calling Sawyer 'Charlie?' when she was dazed and frightened broke my heart a little.
Jesus, poor Alex.
You know, Ben, maybe people would have taken your 'the people on the boat are here to kill everyone' warnings more seriously if you hadn't lied about literally everything else. It seems that not everyone on the boat was in on it, though, which explains a lot.
I love Sawyer fighting to keep Hurley with him! Their relationship has come so far.
'Something Nice Back Home': Jack, you're such a control freak! You don't have to backseat drive when someone is taking out your appendix! It's okay to just let someone else handle things for a while, particularly when those things involve performing surgery on you!
I love that Kate's reaction to learning Jack wants to be involved in the procedure is an unsurprised laugh and an 'I'm just surprised he's not taken it out of himself by now.'
'Just because I'm happy doesn't mean that this isn't real' is cracking me up. It's true; it's deeply weird to see Jack happy!
Absolutely love how upset and distracted and confused Jack is after seeing his father.
That episode had Jack in a lot of pain in the present-day scenes and Jack kissing people and increasingly losing his mind in the flashforwards, so I'm satisfied. Even if it's maddening to watch him ruining his own life and Kate's with his inability to let anything go.
You're not suited to monogamy, Jack. Your jealous, suspicious streak will destroy every relationship you get into. Your only hope is to form a poly relationship with the remaining few survivors, so you know exactly who else Kate is sleeping with and you don't have to drive yourself mad wondering.
Also, where did Claire go???
'Cabin Fever': it's hilarious to me that plot armour is an actual thing in this universe. Michael quite literally cannot die because he's still required by the narrative.
So did Jack develop a life-threatening condition because he's not required by the narrative? But here he still is, falling apart and making terrible decisions, and I appreciate that; the island may not need him, but I do.

LOST PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW JACK'S DAD IS SPEAKING TO LOCKE ON THE ISLAND, HE DIED BEFORE THE SHOW STARTED, I COULD ACCEPT 'JACK IS EXHAUSTED AND LOSING IT AND SEEING HIS FATHER' BUT I DON'T THINK LOCKE EVER EVEN MET HIM, YOU CAN'T JUST DO THINGS LIKE THIS
why is Claire here and seemingly fine with a) her father's inexplicable presence and b) being separated from Aaron, what the fuck is going on, have I just been hallucinating this entire show
Strange to remember that, in the first few episodes, the most puzzling thing about Lost was 'there are polar bears and some sort of unknown monster on this tropical island'.
