More Your Cup Of Tea Than You'd Care To Admit.
Well, everyone seems to be making entries about Life on Mars leaving us tonight (alas! my icon mourns its departure). I am, apparently, no exception.
I suspect that Sam may eventually get out of his coma (as I think it almost certainly is a coma) by destroying the Manchester and Salford police force (er, that is the one he's in, right?), as, according to the Wikipedia article on it, it came to an end in 1974. It was heavily implied in last week's episode that Gene must be 'destroyed' in some way in order to return Sam to his own time. The idea of 'destroying Gene's world so I can get back to mine' came up in Episode Seven of Series One as well.
If this does happen, I want to see Sam horribly conflicted.A torn Sam abruptly snogging Gene and saying 'sorry' just before destroying his life would not go amiss.
Gene has made several comments to the effect that Sam has always been able to go back, but he stays because, although he doesn't realise it, he likes being in 1973. I do have a feeling that, if Sam got back to the present day, he would be elated, think 'I have to tell Annie!' and then have a horrible moment of realisation. As time went by, he would feel more and more out-of-place. A week later, having been driven mad and desperately seeking a way back, he would throw himself in front of a car. It would be terribly upsetting, but it definitely seems a possible way for it to end. After all, 'Sam stays in his coma for ever' would be bizarre, and it seems unlikely that Gene's 'You like it here; you just can't bear to admit it' comments have no significance.
Of course, then there are the phone calls from probably-Morgan that imply that Sam is in 1973 because of some Big Plan. These are just, um, weird, and I have no idea how to fit them into my thoughts. I suppose we'll find out about them tonight.

Though, yeah. His modern policing ideas set him up for being from the future as well...
I'm horribly confused and depressed and WAAAAAH! It's ending and I've not got the faith that it's going to end well...
Luckily,
(And Blue Nun, and pink Wafers and Angel Delight!!!)
Oooh, I'm going to be ill in the morning...

There are currently the makings of a Bird's Trifle setting in the kitchen and I regret to say that Andy dipped her pink wafers in her 'oops.
What was worse, I realised what she was going to do as she reached for them...
