If Bobby Were To Get A Man Pregnant, John Would Be An Obvious Choice.
I know only about three of you really care about Delaware, but regardless: here are some episodes I would like to see in the hypothetical AU Season Four of Supernatural in which Chad Michael Murray stars as Delaware Singer, Bobby's estranged hooker son and the fabulous invention of
wanttobeatree and
sazzlette. ('Delaware Singer', 'Bobby's estranged hooker son' and 'the fabulous invention of
wanttobeatree and
sazzlette' all refer to the same entity; Chad Michael Murray is not playing three different characters in the hypothetical Season Four. Although perhaps he should.)
If you have not yet met Delaware Singer and would like to, please read through this roleplay, to which I am completely addicted. Major spoilers up to the first episode of Season Four.
- The first episode shows Sam meeting Delaware after Dean's death, of course, and the next few show them hunting evil together and slowly growing closer. Sam gradually begins speaking in sentences of more than one syllable and even showing a little animation. THEY FALL IN LOVE. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. MANY VIEWERS ARE PERPLEXED, BUT WE UNDERSTAND.
- There is an episode in which Delaware slowly falls in love with the Impala and it makes Sam kind of uncomfortable, firstly because it's a reminder of what he's lost and secondly because, seriously, having sex with someone who is more than a little similar to one's brother is probably not healthy.
- Delaware's behaviour is a little off for the first ten minutes of an episode. Eventually, Sam works out that he's possessed. He's all ready for some demon-destroying, but wait, Sam! It's Ruby! Sam, furious, asks why the hell she's possessed Delaware; she shrugs and explains that it was the only way she could get his attention, and they've got some psychic-ability-honing to do, Sammy-boy. Sam isn't happy about it, but he can't force her out; having a demonic contact has proven useful, and he can't get her out of Delaware's body without sending her back to Hell.
Once Ruby is discovered, she relaxes and goes back to using the mannerisms she had when she was played by Katie Cassidy, in Delaware's body. Because I really want to see Ruby retaining all her old body language whilst being played by a man.
At one point, when Sam and Ruby-as-Delaware are checking into a motel, Sam unthinkingly refers to Ruby as 'she'. The receptionist gives them a weird look.
- An entire episode in which Sam and Delaware just cuddle and mock each other. Nothing supernatural occurs. The Internet is flooded with people asking what the hell the writers are thinking, and I'm just sitting here in my little corner of it, smiling like an idiot.
- THE EPISODE IN WHICH SAM DISCOVERS THE AWFUL TRUTH: HIS FATHER IS DELAWARE'S MOTHER. He is not sure whether to be more traumatised by the accidental incest thing or by the fact that Bobby knocked up his dad. I'm not sorry.
