Jan. 6th, 2005 07:14 pmMy dear brain,
Hi, haven't heard from you in a while. How are things? Coping with A-Levels well enough? No? Oh, dear.
Anyway, I have something that I wanted to discuss with you. I know that I told you that any fanfic ideas are welcomed. And yes, you've been wonderful since I asked you not to write any more romance for a while - I was especially impressed when you managed to resist it in the NaNo (although you did insist on shovelling in a metric ton of subtext between the male leads). If you really want to write some romance now, I'm willing to listen.
However, I have a few problems with the idea that you recently expressed to me.
Firstly there's the problem of characterisation: two of the characters that you want in the fic are ones that I'm very shaky on, and the PS2 is broken, therefore I cannot research them by playing the game.
Secondly, and more importantly: romance is fine so long as it's not too over-the-top, but romance between a rather awesome, vaguely elf-like resistance faction leader and a parrot/monkey hybrid is beyond belief.
If you must write ridiculous romance... make it Sebastian/Michael, will you? At least that has canonical evidence and two people of the same species.
Thanking you in advance for a return to sanity (please),
Riona.
