rionaleonhart: final fantasy x-2: the sun is rising, yuna looks to the future. (can't tear us apart)
Terrible Idea #6,337:

Every prisoner in Fox River is allowed to bring in one Pokémon to keep them company, but of course there is a Disable field over the prison blocks, preventing the Pokémon from using their abilities. This field is lifted in the infirmary so the Chansey can do their work. (Sara works with the Chansey, but she doesn't actually own one. She has an Eevee.) Prisoners, of course, are not allowed to bring their Pokémon into the infirmary. This area in which Pokémon are free to use their abilities features heavily in Scofield's plan.

Michael Scofield has a Hypno, and he shares a cell with Fernando Sucre (! ...MY LEVEL OF SUCRE-LOVE IS ENTIRELY HEALTHY), who owns a beautifully-groomed Vulpix named Maricruz. T-Bag has an Arbok (thank you, [livejournal.com profile] xavantina! (seriously, she made this manip and look at how perfect it is)). C-Note has a Growlithe. I'm not sure what Lincoln Burrows would have; maybe a Raticate? But Tweener would probably have a Rattata. YOU CAN'T HAVE TWO DIFFERENT CHARACTERS WITH THE SAME SORT OF POKÉMON; IT IS AGAINST THE LAW.

...oh, all right, we all know that Mahone is bound to have exactly the same Pokémon as Scofield. In this tentative sketch, a Hypno.

Charles Westmoreland (also !, although Sucre is always going to be my favourite) has Marilyn the cat. Not a Meowth. A cat. Because, you know, it's got to be Marilyn.

...Haywire could have a Psyduck.

Man, but what would Kellerman have? ([livejournal.com profile] xavantina's theory is that he has ridiculously cute Pokémon - Igglybuff, Horsea, Togepi - because he's just badass enough to pull it off.) And Hale? And Abruzzi? And LJ? And Veronica, Nick, Reynolds, Bellick, Pope, Kim? THIS IS THE DANGER IN ATTEMPTING TO ASSIGN POKÉMON TO SOMETHING WITH A COLOSSAL CAST: IT NEVER ENDS.

I'm sort of tempted to give Burrows an Ivysaur just because it would be useful in the escape, but that's probably cheating. I bet the prison bans Pokémon that can use Vine Whip.
