The new 'My Guests' feature is fascinating, because I can now see that there are people who visit my journal repeatedly despite our never having interacted. I seeeee you, dreamhugs and sekhmet_knight. (Hello! I don't mind at all; I'm just being creepy.)

Possibly-unsettling shout-outs to lurkers aside, the main purpose of this entry:




Merry Christmas, you guys! Or merry not-Christmas, if you don't celebrate it, or not-merry Christmas, if you have an aversion to merriment, and in any case I wish good things upon you all. You are brilliant, brilliant people and I'm so glad I know all of you. (To the lurkers: I don't know you, but I am sure you are brilliant people regardless.)

I kind of want to watch the Supernatural christmas episode but... the fingernail thing! I can deal with all kinds of violence and people being stabbed with christmas trees and all that but not fingernails being pulled out.

Clearly everyone looks their best in ineptly drawn-on Father Christmas outfits. Possibly it is the contrast of the beauty of the actors against the less-than-beauty of their apparel? (On that subject: your icon is so gorgeous!)

I think it might be that most of the picture is covered by flat colour, which makes their faces much more detailed-looking and more of a focus point in the image, which reminds you that OH YES, THOSE TWO HAVE PRETTY GREAT FACES.

If it's any reassurance, My Guests just lists people who have visited any page of your journal; it doesn't actually tell you which pages they've visited.

If you switch My Guests off, it won't tell you who's visiting, but it won't tell other people where you are. If you switch it on, other people see you, and you see them.
