Has anyone made a GIF of David Mitchell snogging the camera from Channel 4's Peep Show and Tell documentary?

I really do think GIFs are necessary. Strangely hot? Just me?

(And the creator of Peep Show has no doubt that, were the programme to continue for another twenty series, Mark and Jeremy would end up in a passive-aggressive gay relationship! Vindicated. I have always believed this.)

The Christmas episode of Peep Show was a good demonstration of the fact that, although Jeremy would be more likely than Mark to ruin your life if you were friends, in a way Jeremy is the more admirable character. On the rare occasions on which Jeremy does good things, he does them - well, yes, frequently as part of a filthy duplicitous ploy, but he'll also do good things out of love. Mark, meanwhile, tends to be motivated in his good deeds by fear - if he doesn't do this, he'll look bad - or by the desire to make someone feel they're in his debt. Whilst I share many of Mark's qualities (his unease in social situations, his intense fear of humiliation, his irrational but difficult-to-shake conviction that terrible things will happen if he spends money), I like to think that I'm at least slightly more inclined than he is to do things for the right reasons. (Is Mark incapable of really caring about other people? That's a bit tragic.)

Also, Dobby is such a fandom girl. I bet she writes incredibly weird slash.

I've just found that all the text in my journal is centred when I view it in Internet Explorer. What? That looks ridiculous. I don't approve of this at all.

Weird phone calls: an emblematic Pokemon tradition. I have a friend who, in the middle of an otherwise quite mundane conversation, burst out extremely angrily "She called me to tell me she dressed up her Nidoran!" It took us all several minutes to realize he was playing Gameboy.

Yep, you can. The EV-lowering berries also raise happiness, but they're more useful for...well, EV training.

I mostly use the "walk all over the place" method of raising happiness, but I have an egg obsession and do that anyway. The Pokemon following you thing is awesome, it's like Yellow but with ALL the Pokemon :D.

My favourite thing about the following has to be how much more personality your pokemon get. I ended up with an Onix who to my mind was like a big dumb puppy. She kept nudging at my bag and trying to cuddle me, and this was somehow cute despite the fact that I don't think you'd want to be cuddled by a giant rock snake. I think she had it in her head she was really a lapdog.

EV berries are so cheap for happiness raising, but I am lazy so I love them.

I still maintain the best random calls are the ones you get from the gym leaders. I remain convinced that Jasmine has a crush on me.

When I first heard about the phone-call function I thought it would be used purely to call you back for battles, but no; people call you up just to say hi. I find that entirely delightful. (And I just cracked up at your angry-friend story.)

Oh, good! Thanks for letting me know. Perhaps it's only specific versions of Internet Explorer? In any case, I suppose I should at least consider making a change.

Dobby is eventually, at some point when she's entirely over Mark and Mark is not entirely over her, going to write the drunken gay porn story of Mark and Jeremy's love while giggling over it with her friends (possibly one of those IM sessions that gets out of hand) and accidentally email it to Mark, who's going to have a panic attack that his possible-latent-bisexuality that he's forgotten about has leaked out so much that everyone can see it, and seems to be focused on Jeremy. He will then get horribly awkward and weird around Jeremy, who will attempt to resolve the problem by giving Mark drugs of some sort. This will lead to sex, which, much to Jeremy's frustration, will lead to even more awkwardness.

And you're a much nicer person than Mark. Or Jeremy, as I've only seen you do good things out of love and/or general niceness, not as part of a duplicitous ploy.

I would love to read this fic. Both the one you describe and the one Dobby wrote. I would not be at all surprised if she were of an RPS-about-people-she-knows-personally inclination. Oh, Dobby.

My dad was sniggering and pointing at me when Mark was talking about Dobby forcing him* to watch Prison Break. It was a cruel but not undeserved act of mockery.
