In SoulSilver, if you've given him your Pokégear number, Juggler Irwin calls after your liberation of the Radio Tower to say 'I just wanted to let you know that you're awesome!'

Awww. (I feel so immersed in the Pokémon world when I'm playing this game. It fills my entire being with joy.)

Although, now that I've played a bit further, Juggler Irwin is starting to unsettle me a bit. 'I saw, I saw, I saw! I saw you liberate the Radio Tower!' 'I saw, I saw, I saw! I saw you go into the Dragon's Den!'* 'Hearing about your escapades rocks my soul!' 'I'm so glad you called! I was just about to call you, too! I guess we must be a good match!'

Juggler Irwin is obsessed with me, guys. It's giving me the creeps.

Although I like him more than I do Lance. Dear Lance: what sort of unconscionable arsehole has three Dragonite? That is not even slightly fair.

* Ahahaha, the Dragon's Den! I was half expecting to go in and find I had to pitch my Pokémon-related inventions to a panel of millionaires in order to earn my gym badge.


Slightly odd conversation last night, through my brother's bedroom door:

Riona: There's a mug of milk on the kitchen surface. Is it yours?
Joseph: It's not mine. Maybe Mum put it aside for her tea tomorrow.
Riona: I was worried the cats might get it.
Joseph: Hold on.
(Joseph emerges from his bedroom with a roll of clingfilm.)
Joseph: Why not put some clingfilm over it?
Riona: Oh, thanks!
(Pause. Riona looks at the clingfilm. Looks at Joseph's bedroom. Something about this situation doesn't feel quite right.)
Riona: Why—
Joseph: (brightly) Good night! (closes door)

In other news: DUDE, you've done Dragon's Den already?! MY MIND, IT IS A'BOGGLE. I was shocked at how easy I found Clair though. I guess having Lapras really helped! XD

I found myself liking Lance in this game a lot more than I did in Red and Blue, but then he turned up as the champion with three Dragonite and any amicable feelings I may have held disappeared.

My battle team of the moment are Redux the Typhlosion, Toph the Graveler, Zuko the Ampharos, Shay the Victreebel, Cairo the Fearow and Ario the Dragonair! They have been serving me extremely well, but now they are in a state of hurling themselves at the Elite Four and failing several million times in a row, which isn't much fun.

Yes, I'm at the Elite Four. I have been playing this game far too much. BUT IT'S SO ADDICTIVE.

aah, I'm sporting an Ampharos too! They seem to be a trend for most people this gen, haha.

I'm in pretty much the same position re: Elite Four! I'm low-to-middling 40s and I'm just resigned to going for it again and again until I eventually level up and break through. XD

A Dragonair-line was gonna be one of my choices to deal with the dragons, but I don't like how the dragons can also deal with the Dragonites with ease, so I went with Lapras instead. I have Del Lago the Lapras, Nemesis the Drifloon, Titan the Ampharos, Garrador the Charizard, Tyrant the Sandslash and U-6 the Togekiss (sooo desperate for a shiny stone, argh!).

I am in agreement on the addictiveness! The only obstacle for me is my tendency to be uuuuber slooooow at most games, especially Pokemon, hehe

... I am trying to search for a possible reason why the Ampharos is named Zuko and not the Typhlosion, but I am failing here. Does Zuko know Fire Punch, by any chance?

An excellent question! It's primarily because, back when I caught him as a Mareep, the thought of how very annoyed Zuko would be to have an adorable fluffy sheep named after him amused me.

I once happened upon Ulrich Haarbürste's Novel of Roy Orbison in Cling-film in a bookshop. It was an amazing moment. I fell upon it in delight, rather to the confusion of the person I was with, and bought a copy for reipan. I only regret not buying enough to give to all my family and friends.
