Don't Listen To Ondore's Lies!
There was a guy with a Griever necklace in my Approaches to Meaning in English lecture. I stopped him on his way out and told him how awesome he was and asked him where he'd got it from and generally made a complete prat of myself, but I have an excuse, and that excuse is Griever necklace.
Also, I have got more post, because you are all ridiculously lovely. I will talk about it under the cut, because I imagine most of you are fed up with my 'eeeeee, post!' entries by now.
draegonhawke has sent me another hilarious postcard, this one with a drawing of Captain Jack Harkness attempting to chat up a rather bewildered Milotic on the front, much to Sam Tyler's despair. The back suggests the caption, 'It hadn't even cast "Captivate" yet!' IT IS A WORK OF GENIUS. (I'll probably have to scan some of these things in when I next have access to a scanner.) One of the stamps did, indeed, appear to have a tiny '666' printed on it, which rather confused me until I realised that there was an extremely difficult-to-see additional yellow '6' at the beginning. '6666' is no less mysterious, but at least it's slightly less Satanic.
reipan has sent me a letter written on paper that inexplicably has pictures of sushi all over it and is held together with what appear, rather worryingly, to be tentacle stickers. (Oh, Rei, I recognised the handwriting from the envelope alone. Not signing it would have fooled nobody. ALSO, I ALWAYS WANT CRACKFIC. YOU KNOW I DO.) By the way, Rei, if you write 'P.T.O.' on both sides of a piece of paper, you have essentially doomed the reader to eternally reading the first two sides of your letter over and over and over again. That was probably intentional, wasn't it? Because you're evil. (The fact that I am now caught in an endless loop of letter-reading does not make me any less grateful for the letter, however.)
twilit_wanderer's letter opened with a series of warnings which included 'She will write letters until told to stop!', which I am both amused and pleased by, and included a line in Al Bhed, which, I was slightly concerned to discover, I could read perfectly well without looking at the translation. In fact, the translation says 'does' while the Al Bhed says 'will'. Was this a secret test of my Al Bhed-reading skills? Do I pass?
In the letter itself, she wrote about cave-drawing Pyramid Head and included a doodle of stick-figure herself going 'D:' at stick-figure Pyramid Head (THAT IS THE SECOND STICK-FIGURE PYRAMID HEAD I HAVE RECEIVED IN TWO DAYS WHAT THE HELL) and drew her Brilliant Techniques For Spider-Elimination and mused on how tall a model Jeremy Clarkson would have to be to fit with her Transformer figurines and generally made me laugh like a loon. Although she has now permanently associated spiders with the Weeping Angel statues from Doctor Who in my mind, which is horrifying. And I would love to hear about Vana'diel!
I have realised, rather to my alarm, that the way in which I write Balthier can sometimes make him sound very similar to the Master. I'll have to make them meet at some point and see what happens. (If Balthier hadn't been a hero, he could have made such a good villain.)

It is good that you do not mind hearing about Vana'diel, because I have started that and it is going to be... probably ridiculously long!.
(And the word I could not remember was synesthesia. Just if that was a sleep-impairing mystery or something.)

(The original draft of this post actually had the line 'And the word was "synaesthesia", by the way' in it, but I worried that it might seem too patronising.)
