rionaleonhart: final fantasy x-2: the sun is rising, yuna looks to the future. (this could be slightly awkward)

HORRIBLY EMBARRASSING CONFESSIONS TIME:

I've never actually seen High School Musical, and it is the cheesiest thing in the world, but 'Breaking Free' (link leads to a YouTube video) manages to put tears in my eyes anyway. (EDIT: ...and making this confession appears to have snapped something inside me, because I am now dancing madly along to it. HELP ME, I'VE GONE INSANE.)

Although it doesn't make me weep nearly as much as 'Ever Ever After' does. I have seen Enchanted, but I'm really not sure whether that actually makes this any better.

NOW IT IS YOUR TURN TO CONFESS.

Confess what? Songs that make me cry?

I don't like the song, but I kind of like the video because Enrique Iglesias kind of reminds me of Wolfwood from Trigun in that.

Eleanor Rigby is the one song guarenteed to always make me cry. Even in the middle of Yellow Submarine (http://youtube.com/watch?v=boc7rnhkLAk), one of the shiniest movies ever made, it makes me blub like a baby.

That's not a real confession! It's a heartbreaking song.

(I was sobbing through She falls asleep by McFly. Now that's wrong)

On the theme of songs you're embarrassed to admit can reduce you to tears, this would be mine. The sentiment rings so true for me. I love fiction so much.

This sequence from Disney's Treasure Planet always gets me as well. Every darn time. Except I'm only half embarrassed about that one, because I adore that film~ ♥

[identity profile] amy-wolf.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll admit, I kind of like the Treasure Planet song. It never made me cry (the songs that make me cry all come with excessively complicated explanations, and wind up less embarrassing than awkward and a bit sad), but I can rather get into it.

Because someone had to mention zombies.

[identity profile] amy-wolf.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Also, I can't watch zombie movies without having nightmares and paranoid, "Are zombies about to come through the window?" stretches. Every other kind of horror movie I'm good with (including watching Ringu at one in the morning while alone in the house), but zombies man, they freak me out.

I am now using this post as a songs rec list.

Once, when I was 14, I wrote Mary-sue fic, and also fic of needless, OOC WOES and ANGST. I'm glad to say that 8 years on they have been totally swallowed by the internets and no longer exist.

I cry at everything. Everything. If the soundtrack to a film maybe suggests that I start feeling sad by pulling out the violins then I will sob. I am the soundtrack's bitch.

Sometimes I cry at cartoons.

When I was fourteen, I wrote a Mary-Sue as well! She had a tragic past, and turned out implausibly bad-ass, and slept with a canon character, and got to be all noble and righteous, and died tragically! But the fic archive I sent her to folded right when I submitted it (I don't think she was quite that bad, though), so she never got on the internet.

And that's where I got my username. Because I name my Sues Amy.

'Ever ever after' is an awesome song, so it's allowed to make you weep, because Enchanted is an AMAZING film!

Ok, mine - I have an entire playlist of S Club 7, Steps, B*witched, Samantha Mumba, Spice Girls and Aqua songs. This playlist is labelled 'Awesome music'

Well, when I was younger, I used to force my father to act out The Little Mermaid with me. I tied me feet together with a hair band and everything. I also would create elaborate and epic dance routines to the Pokemon theme.

But, the strangest thing I've ever done is cried during this really cheesy Disney Channel movie, Cadet Kelly, because her dad is TRAPPED on a cliff!

All of this is from before I turned 13, but they are still on my mind vividly.

All I know about Highschool Musical is that this is one of the most homosexual songs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUdqna8wd6k) in the world ever, and that I Don't Dance (aforementioned song) is even MORE homosexual than Fabulous (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCl5gs7GFWY) which involves pink and being fabulous. But 'I Don't Dance' is basically one big 'it's okay if you're gay, you can still be manly!' song and dance routine.

And I own plenty of embarrassing songs! I love Erasure! And have the first Spice Girls and Aqua CDs! And three Ace of Base albums! And the two Savage Garden CDs! And Hold Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_4Fkyo5Rwo) made me cry.

I... I don't have any music that I am embarrassed to admit owning! But I don't know what qualifies as music that is frowned upon, so, er.

Something that makes me weep uncontrollably every time I watch it, though - the only thing, actually* - is the ending of Final Fantasy X. EVEN WITH THE SEQUEL, I STILL AM A MESS BY THE TIME THE CREDITS ACTUALLY START. JUST HEARING THE SONG MAKES ME TEAR UP SOMETIMES.

... I never think about these things! And they never come up in conversations! Apparently the only other things I consider embarrassing are the stories I wrote at the request of a former friend featuring her Sailor Moon Sue-character. ... This is a strange revelation. I must be forgetting things.
