And Now Bob Is Going To Sing For You.

Today, I went to Thorpe Park with [livejournal.com profile] th_esaurus. My history of going on rides was practically nonexistent and everything in the park looked like it wanted to kill me and eat my skin, so, yeah, I was on-the-verge-of-crying terrified.

AND THEN SHE DRAGGED ME ONTO ALL THE SCARIEST RIDES AND WE HAD ICE-CREAM (NOT ON THE RIDES) AND TRIED TO NAME ALL THE POKÉMON FROM MEMORY (ALSO NOT ON THE RIDES, THERE IS NO TIME TO MUSE ON THE CLASSIFICATION OF NIDORAN WHEN YOU ARE BEING FIRED TWO HUNDRED FEET INTO THE AIR AT A MILLION MILES AN HOUR (SERIOUSLY, LOOK AT THAT THING)) AND IT WAS PRETTY MUCH THE BEST DAY EVER.

Also, we concluded that Sam Winchester is an Abra (fairly undeveloped psychic powers! cute but has the potential to evolve into something that looks incredibly evil!) and Dean is a Growlithe. (IF YOU HAVE EVER LAIN AWAKE AT NIGHT THINKING 'I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT POKÉMON RIONA WOULD BE AND I AM DYING TO TELL HER BUT I CANNOT FIND A CONVENIENT WAY OF SLIPPING IT INTO CONVERSATION', WORRY NO LONGER, FOR HERE IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY.)

Seriously. Amazing day. Amazing day of joy.

(As we were buying the tickets, a scrolling message informed us that 'Logger's Leap' was currently unavailable. I misread this as 'Loser's Leap', which would clearly be a much better ride.)

(EDIT: From [livejournal.com profile] th_esaurus: the most evil-looking photograph of me I've ever seen, with Stealth looking comparatively rather cute and harmless in the background.)

Pfff, you went on that spinny-thing in London last year! Surely a rollercoaster in nothing compared to that?

Also, Sam could easily be a Psyduck as well, if we're going with undeveloped psychic powers. And Psyduck is kinda adorable AND the worse his headache gets, the stronger his powers are. And what does Sam get when he has visions? A HEADACHE.

[identity profile] dracothelizard.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
See, you just need to get on more rollercoasters to get used to their AWESOMENESS.

Also, both of them tend to look even cuter when distraught, if I remember my pokemon correctly.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in this assessment. That's more than enough to scare me.

I went to Thorpe Park 2 weeks ago and Stealth was awesome-cool! Did you go on Tidal Wave???

[identity profile] linakitten.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Woe! It was as if you were inside the wave! Though I did freeze to death and have to go stand for some time in one of the dryers afterwards.

[identity profile] twilit-wanderer.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I have been on one of those! AND MY ONLY REGRET IS THAT I WASN'T ALLOWED TO WEAR MY GLASSES, so when we reached the top and paused, staring down at nothing but a VERY LONG DROP right before plummeting, even though I was in the very front, I couldn't see anything. Stupid eyes!

It was fun! Though I've spent a lot of time in parks riding rollercoasters, which probably helps with the Not Being Terrified bit.

[identity profile] twilit-wanderer.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, there's that. I had to have my brother steer me around, which is always annoying and mildly embarrassing. (Are you sure I was going completely the wrong way? "Yes.")

I am not really sure if being able to see would make it better or worse! But I am extremely frustrated by my inability to naturally see anything that isn't perched right on my nose. ...And, you know, if I'm going to be shot up four hundred feet and then dropped to my death, I'd at least like to be able to enjoy the view. I COULD SEE MY HOUSE FROM UP HERE, IF ONLY I COULD SEE.

[identity profile] calamitysxchild.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
THAT LOOKS TERRIFYING. But I love rollercoasters. As long as I have a friends hand to grab onto and they don't mind me screaming and woooing. I believe this is the last one I was on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ride_of_Steel_%28Darien_Lake%29 but I'm not positive if that was it.

Well damn now I wanna be a pokemon.

[identity profile] th-esaurus.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO WAIT UNTIL I SENT YOU THE PHOTO OF YOU/STEALTH OTP.

I was trying to be calm and chipper for you ): Was this helpful or obnoxious?

[identity profile] th-esaurus.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually think it's a nice photo of you, but you do look a bit...severe.

[identity profile] th-esaurus.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Also WHAT IS THAT MYSTERIOUS SPEEDING BLOB TO THE RIGHT OF STEALTH?

BATMAN???

[identity profile] dracothelizard.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
UFO.

OR A LEGENDARY POKEMON.

[identity profile] page-r.livejournal.com 2008-07-16 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
...Am I the only person thinking - person thrown from roller-coaster!? >_>

[identity profile] th-esaurus.livejournal.com 2008-07-16 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
I find this high unlikely considering there isn't a carriage on the track.

[identity profile] page-r.livejournal.com 2008-07-16 09:44 am (UTC)(link)
what she said!

I was going to say something about someone clinging for hours and then getting sucked in to a time-space vortex (to excuse why they fell sideways) but I like that one better.

[identity profile] dracothelizard.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah, Riona TOTALLY looks like she's happy about Stealth there.

And that black blob is obviously an UFO.

[identity profile] nixwilliams.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
\o/ pics of my flist! i love it!

[identity profile] squeemu.livejournal.com 2008-07-15 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
I - I have the strangest urge to, I don't know, print that out and frame it. It is fantastic.

And yes, Riona, yes you do look amazingly evil. You should perhaps make an icon out of it, or put it on a business card to hand out to people.

(Also, fdjsklafa that looks like a terrifying rollercoaster.)

[identity profile] amy-wolf.livejournal.com 2008-07-16 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
That's your evil genius face, isn't it? It's the expression we're all going to dread when you take over the world.

[identity profile] plotbunnydoom.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
AHHHH I AM SO JEALOUS THERE ARE NO GOOD AMUSEMENT PARKS WITHIN 200 MILES OF HERE.

Ahem. Pokemon + Winchesters CLEARLY NEEDS TO BE CANON.

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
(IF YOU HAVE EVER LAIN AWAKE AT NIGHT THINKING 'I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT POKÉMON RIONA WOULD BE AND I AM DYING TO TELL HER BUT I CANNOT FIND A CONVENIENT WAY OF SLIPPING IT INTO CONVERSATION'

I can't even imagine anyone doing that because, really, slipping that into conversation with you is like telling a professional cake seminar-giver "I like cakes!". ALL CONVERSATIONS REVOLVE AROUND POKEMON.

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2008-07-15 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
OKAY FINE. THERE WAS THAT ONE TIME YOU TALKED ABOUT... UH... YOU KNOW. THAT THING. THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH POKEMON.

(There has to be someone out there who goes around to all the cooking schools and gives seminars on cakes, okay? >:( I can not live in a world where this is not true.)

[identity profile] rieyll.livejournal.com 2008-07-15 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
AAAAHHH I went there with my dad a couple of years ago and it was OMGAWESOME!

My dad and I both don't enjoy spinny rides, but speed and height? OH YES! We queued for Stealth for almost an hour, but the ride was so exhilarating, we immediately got back in line the instant we got off. We were willing to queue for 45 minutes for a ride that lasted barely 2 minutes.

But your picture is too cute! lol

[identity profile] dracothelizard.livejournal.com 2008-07-15 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
Also, I want to argue that Dean is totally a Lickitung, although he'd probably bitch FOREVER about being a pink Pokemon.

Actually, there isn't really a Pokemon who flirts all the time, so Dean has to be Brock.

[identity profile] emmarrrrr.livejournal.com 2008-07-15 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
COLLOSSUS IS EVIL AND I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS

biggest adrenaline rush ever, but still.

bruised shoulders for three weeks afterwards? no thankyou. ;_; oh, the perils of being tiny.

ALSO. the teachers (it was a school trip, ololol) went on tidal wave, then collossus, and were magically very nearly completely dry when they emerged from the latter.

[identity profile] glowering.livejournal.com 2008-07-16 11:52 am (UTC)(link)
Dude! I totally went to Thorpe Park yesterday. I did not go on Stealth however. Looking at it scared the shit out of me. I went on Nemesis Inferno three times instead.

[identity profile] glowering.livejournal.com 2008-07-16 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
My boyfriend was going "I'mgoingtodieI'mgoingtodieI'mgoingtodieI'mgoingtodie" as we approached the front of the queue and then had a similar response to you.

I'm very impressed you managed Stealth. I was planning on doing it but then I had a closer look and it was like "Ooh, those teacups look fun!" I also wouldn't go on the slammer - I don't mind going upside down but it's when it's really slowly that it bothers me. Like the corkscrew bit on Colossus where you fall out of your seat. Not fun.
