rionaleonhart: final fantasy x-2: the sun is rising, yuna looks to the future. (i have killed before)

I Will Be The God Of The New World. Bet On It.

Boy Meets Girl had what is probably the most unsatisfying ending I have ever seen. If you are going to have a bodyswapped character start a relationship with someone without revealing that, oh, yeah, I used to be the guy you worked with, you need to have some sort of fallout and resolution after he has returned to his own body! How is this not obvious?

Tsk. Anyway, I am now going to talk a bit more about Death Note, which has yet to so betray me (apart from with the second opening theme, which just feels like someone screaming at me a lot, which is a bit distressing when a) the first opening is possibly my favourite opening of anything I have ever watched (even if it does make me think of Twilight), and b) I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING WRONG, STOP SCREAMING).

(I also love the first ending, so have a link to that as well.)

(OH, WAIT, SPEAKING OF THE FIRST OPENING: SOME GENIUS ON YOUTUBE HAS MADE IT SO MUCH BETTER. I love the 'ZAC EFRON IS LIGHT' theory far too much.)

I greatly enjoyed the preview for the tenth episode of Death Note. 'HE MUST HAVE SOME OTHER MOTIVE FOR PLAYING TENNIS.' You can lay over all the dramatic music you want, Death Note; it's still a tennis match.

EPISODE FOURTEEN

LIGHT IS THE FIRST FRIEND L HAS EVER HAD

OH, L

I do wish Light cared about L as well. If they both perceived each other as friends and were still trying to kill each other, that would be fascinating. Also, of course, heartbreaking. Although L viewing Light as a friend is heartbreaking enough as it is. (What I really love is the fact that we discover a few episodes later that L has always thought Light was Kira, and yet he considers him a friend anyway.)

On episodes sixteen and seventeen: I rather like the innocent Light, the one who's forgotten about the Death Note. Let's have a series about him. Admittedly, a series about Light's adventures in Not Being Kira may not be terribly interesting, but I want it anyway. (THE LIGHT WHO DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT THE DEATH NOTE CAN'T BRING HIMSELF TO MANIPULATE SOMEONE'S EMOTIONS FOR INFORMATION. Oh, Light, how the Death Note changed you. And he's so angry about the suggestion that he might be Kira, bless him.)

...and now I am forced to take that back, because we have had Light's adventures in Not Being Kira for several episodes now and, to be honest, it really isn't as interesting as the adventures of Light the Deluded Murderer. Whoops. I'd rather be friends with the Death Noteless Light, obviously, but he's not nearly as much fun to watch.

Also, I notice that I appear not to be 'shipping L and Light, even when they are handcuffed together. How curious.

At this point, I think my main thought is that too many people are using Death Notes and not enough of them are Derren Brown.

In non-spoilery news, I really like Matsuda. He is enthusiastic and adorable! And in the middle of L and Light's twisted powerplay, it's nice to have a genuinely good guy who just wants to prove himself.

There should really be a Death Note/Top Gear crossover. Allowing Jeremy Clarkson to get his hands on a Death Note would be so very, very bad for the world. (The first thing he wrote in it would be the name of a terrible car.)

And Supernatural/Death Note! The Winchesters decide to investigate the mysterious deaths! They and L end up working together! Or possibly hating each other whilst working towards the same goal.

Death Note, it transpires, is very crossoverable indeed. (I'd hate to see what Withnail would do with a Note.)

I have a question! xD I totally loved the Death Note movies. What's the series like, in comparison? I've been thinking of checking it out for a while but I'm not sure.

Ooh, that does sound good. I'll have to check it out. You should try out the movies, I love L in them. I mean, I have no idea if he's like the one in the series but he's great anyway. xD Thanks! I'll probably watch the series over the summer or something.

All of these were made by [livejournal.com profile] ehs_wildcats and definitely not me, which is why they are far less shite than the usual tripe I fling at you.

And... And... What if they were brothers too?

(I hope this makes up for ruining pokemon)

Uhh. No.

So I was watching Evening of Wonders last night on E4.

And then Derren tells a line of people that he's ordered them in the order that they're going to die.

AND NOW I CAN SEE HIM BEING ADDICTED TO APPLES.

Boy Meets Girl could definitely have done with another episode, I thought. Now it was like 'Hurrah, they're back in their own bodies! Who cares how they fix what happened in their lives, they're back to normal!'

Also: NOT ENOUGH MARTIN FREEMAN BEING VERONICA. It was all about Danny adapting to being a woman, which was fine, but very little of Veronica trying to make sense of suddenly having a penis.

"Allowing Jeremy Clarkson to get his hands on a Death Note would be so very, very bad for the world."

The problem is that Jeremy would write stuff like 'Piers Moron' and then get annoyed that Piers Morgan doesn't drop dead immediately.

Does Pyramid Head own his own Death Note, or does he just own a Horrible Mental Torture Note?

I was waiting for the whole Veronica/Ali affair to come out, and that Jay and Siobhan would start dating, or something, but nothing was ever resolved with that.

OH MY GOD, I just realized I had a dream about you and...[livejournal.com profile] twofourteen last night. Wow. That memory took a while to surface. But I did! You were both sadly blurry, since I have zero idea what y'all look like, but my subconscious was very determinedly set on convincing me that these two arbitrary blobs WERE you and Anna. I think we were on a bus. That's all I remember, aside from your and Anna's presence. Huh.

I thought I'd share. BECAUSE DREAMING ABOUT PEOPLE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW IN REAL LIFE IS TOTALLY NOT CREEPY!

Also, that Death Note opening IS the best opening I have ever seen. :OOO Alkxjhdflkjasdf.

I twittered (okay, I'm sure there's a ~technical~ verb for that, but I don't really gaf) Anna about it, and remembered that there was a miscellanious alligator involved somehow, but apart from that? Yeah. Blobs. :/ Next time I'll try to get some breaking and entering in there, don't worry.

I have not watched it, but now I kind of WANT TO REALLY BADLY. *chews knuckles* Oh, time. Why do I not have enough of you. D:

AWESOME. ♥!

I've had exactly two dreams about people on my flist that I can recall. One pulled a whole bunch of tar out of my brain and I had to rewind time to save her teeth. The other one was a robot with embarrassingly noisy hydraulic knees.

Neither one of them were you, by the way.

[identity profile] thrennion.livejournal.com 2009-05-24 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
First reaction to the Death Note opening/Bet On It mashup:
THAT IS RATHER ENTERTAINING AND AMUSING.

Second reaction:
ACTUALLY, I HADN'T REALISED HOW CREEPY THAT SONG IS. Brr.

And Matsuda IS adorable!

[identity profile] amy-wolf.livejournal.com 2009-05-24 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Jeremy Clarkson would so write a vast and endless list of car names, only to be frustrated that the Death Note only works on humans! He'd be all "But the Hyundai Accent deserves to die!"

I find L utterly adorable, and want to take him home and give him a perch and feed him sugar and logic problems forever!

Also, in the movies, Light is not played by Zac Ephron, but the guy who plays L (Ken'ichi Matsuyama ) is stunningly good at being L. You should come over to my place and see them, except I live in an undisclosed location on a different continent than you. Er, maybe you could come to Fiji and see them in a few months? Or Vietnam at some point? Johnnypurple's been talking about a TGS Vietnam meetup.

Death Note, must rewatch.

Also, first intro song is better than the second (ALthough the "yeah yeah ningen fuckers" thing is funny)
