Maybe Van Pelt Is A Bit Taken With Dean.
I am very nearly caught up on The Mentalist!
At the beginning of 'Red Scare', I found myself wondering whether I had accidentally put on a Supernatural episode. I spent the rest of the episode half-expecting the Winchesters to show up and was mildly disappointed when they didn't.
(The Winchesters investigate a case! The CBI are already investigating it! Cho interrogates Sam! Dean becomes convinced that this guy with a girl's name is actually psychic and they need to take him out! (They don't actually take him out, though. That would make the concept much less delightful. (Maybe Sam takes him out to dinner.)))
Van Pelt and Rigsby were adorable enough to make up for the lack of Winchesters, though. I love them. Also, the part where Jane was leaning casually against a ledge and drinking tea and basically looked like he was having the most civilised phonesex ever with Cho was bizarrely and enormously hot.
Over the weekend, I made the following rather perplexing slipup when talking to my housemate:
Riona: Would you like some drugs? ...no, not drugs. Water.
It was late and I was sleepy, but that doesn't really make it much less confusing.
(Between that and my starting a story with 'A friend of mine was once strangling me - not for erotic reasons...' in the middle of a discussion about autoerotic asphyxiation, I think my housemate may be slightly afraid of me.)

It's not even funny how often stuff like this happens to me. (Okay, it's actually really funny, but that's Not The Point.) Also I burst out laughing at this and scared away the woodpecker outside my window. Scaring nature is always fun. High five!
And I have a feeling Cho would be fantastic at phonesex. He's EFFICIENT. *MEANINGFUL EYEBROW RAISE*

My ovaries are those kinds that are probably dysfunctional, and that scene still made Rachel-goo out of me. Alkjdhflkjhsdf.

Cho finally gives in, they continue, and Jane looks up suddenly to catch Lisbon's eye and just TWINKLES at her, without breaking pace with Cho.
AUGH. WANT.

A pause.
"She's actually there, isn't she?"
"I'm not going to tell you. Take all the fun out of guessing. You're not a fan of voyeurism?"
Oh my God, Lisbon mouths from across the room, what are you talking about?
"I'm not a fan of being watched."
"Interesting clarification," Jane says, stirring his tea.
"Psychoanalysis," Cho says. "That's erotic. About on the same level as calling this a 'scenario'."
"All right," Jane says, after taking a sip. "Where were we?"
"Lisbon still there?"
Jane looks up at Lisbon over the rim of his teacup. "She can't have left if she was never really here, can she?"
Which isn't technically a lie. What Cho doesn't know won't hurt him.
"I was halfway through unbuttoning your shirt."
"Why are you unbuttoning my shirt, anyway?" Jane asks, taking another sip of tea and settling himself more comfortably against the cushions. "Where's the romance in that? No ripping my shirt off, unable to control yourself, and flinging it over the branches of the tree?"
Lisbon is gaping at him. He makes a 'close your mouth' gesture.
"You hate it when your clothes get damaged," Cho says. "And I thought we were on Lisbon's desk."
"I think we should be in a tree. Let's be in a tree. The boss's office is such a cliché."
"I think that would probably be uncomfortable."
"It'll be fine. Come on."
"All right," Cho says. "But if we're climbing trees, I'm putting my pants back on."
"We're already up there. Lisbon's desk is in the tree."
"My desk is where?"
There is a pause.
"That was Lisbon, wasn't it?" Cho asks.
"Oh, hey, Lisbon!" Jane says, with an affected start.
Lisbon stares at him.
"I'm not sure this is going to work," says Cho.

Okay, so I haven't had my laptop for a while, so I know this is overdue but HEY OMG THIS IS ADORABLE AND YES.
CHO. Also, "Let's be in a tree." is the best sentence in any phone sex scenario I can think of. Ever. Bleeeeeeee.
