With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility, I Am Led To Understand.
I SAY THINGS AND THEN THEY COME TRUE. I SAY THINGS AND THEN THEY COME TRUE. I SAID ON FRIDAY THAT I WANTED VICTORIA COREN TO BE AT THE WOULD I LIE TO YOU? RECORDING AND SHE WAS. I SAID IN MY WRITEUP OF SAID RECORDING YESTERDAY THAT I WANTED DAVID MITCHELL AND VICTORIA COREN TO GET MARRIED AND TODAY THE TELEGRAPH ANNOUNCES THAT THEY ARE DATING.
When you do get married, guys, I fully expect an invitation to the wedding for causing this to happen with my magical powers.
Oh, my goodness, this is the best thing.
So this entry doesn't consist solely of my being creepily excited about real people I've never met getting together (this has never happened before, but then again most celebrities aren't this freaking perfect for each other guys you don't understand), further notes on Final Fantasy XIII! I have now played up to Palumpolum (...which I have only just realised is a reference to Palom and Porom of Final Fantasy IV; I thought the name sounded familiar!), where by 'played' I mean 'watched a playthrough on YouTube on account of not possessing the required console'.
- Hope really does worship Lightning. I am finding it so endearing. Particularly endearing is his awkwardness when you run the wrong way: 'Light, uh... you know best and everything, but why are we turning around?'
- Snow's reaction when Fang gives him a whack on the head cracks me up. 'Ow! That was - ow!'
- The Waterscape is extremely pretty! Also, Final Fantasy XIII seems to be making a lot of use of vocals in its music.
- The flashback to Sazh and Dajh watching the fireworks? Reader, I wept.
- Have I mentioned how totally adorable it is that Sazh keeps a baby Chocobo in his hair? It is totally adorable.
- ...OH MY GOD SAZH. Well, that explains his weird 'how did you know?' reaction when Vanille asked him whether he was down about 'the l'Cie thing'. AND VANILLE WAS WITH DAJH WHEN HE BECAME A L'CIE WHAT THIS IS CRAZY.
- (Incidentally, how much do I love that 'family' is a major theme in this Final Fantasy game? I should make a big list of my favourite themes in fiction at some point. 'Family' would probably be at the top.)
- Finding out about Dajh makes Sazh's response to finding out that Serah was a l'Cie rather interesting. When he told Lightning not to make her suffer, was he genuinely thinking about what would be best for Serah, because his son is a l'Cie as well? Or was he thinking of his son, because Serah was a Pulse l'Cie and, if destroying Pulse l'Cie is Dajh's Focus, Serah has to die?
- SNOW TAKE A LOOK AT HOPE'S FACE. YOU SEE THAT EXPRESSION OF BOILING BARELY-CONTAINED RAGE? YEAH, MAYBE YOU SHOULD ASK ABOUT THAT.
- Oh, Snow. You can see that it pains him to threaten the citizens - 'I'm a l'Cie! I'm here to kill you all!' - but he has to do it to protect them. And then Hope asks the girl whether she's okay, and she's terrified of him, and it breaks my heart a little. ('These people all want to kill us, don't they?' Oh, Hope.)
- The constant failure of Snow and Hope to Have A Chat is actually a bit maddening. It's like Josh and Nate in Waterloo Road; they keep looking as if they're about to kiss, but then something interrupts and they never actually do. But in this case Josh becomes more and more homicidal every time the kiss is denied. (This is a bad analogy because it has planted the idea of Snow and Hope kissing in my head, which simply doesn't work on any level.)
- I love it when Lightning worries about the others. Lightning, you caaaaare.
- Awww, heart-to-heart between Lightning and Fang! Which seems a little strange, perhaps, given how reserved Lightning usually is and how short a time they've known each other, but awww regardless.
- SNOW AND HOPE FINALLY TALKED. It's a shame they didn't manage to get around to it before Hope's frustration and angst built up to attempted murder, but there you go. Bless Snow for being so determined to carry Hope with him even when he was injured and exhausted and Hope had just tried to kill him.
- Lightning hugged Hope when they were reunited! ♥ ♥ ♥! And Hope didn't know what to do! There's so much focus on the relationships between the central cast members in this Final Fantasy; I'm really enjoying it.
Goodness me, wouldn't it be great if Derren Brown appeared on Would I Lie to You?? Don't mind me; just abusing my powers. While I'm at it, I'd love to be serenaded by Darren Criss, although it's possible that my reality-warping abilities pertain only to matters of British comedy.

I've shouted at my computer twice this week now, once for the Take That Kidz spaceship video, and once for THIS!
I fangirl both of them, and I fully endorse your theory that they would be lovely together - not that my opinion matters at all ;-)
In other news - can we have World Peace now, oh Mighty One?
no subject
Well, I'll give it a try: world peace would be lovely, wouldn't it?

I look forward to finding out what else you can arrange :-)

Of course I'd have been happier if David had announed his relationship with Charlie, but I'll have to make do with VC :D

Or are you only using your powers for good?
(now I wish I had a slightly less creepy icon of him to use, but oh well...)

Also, seems this week's the time to place your lottery numbers, Riona!
If you want to find more games you might like, you should try the Shadow Hearts games (yeah, the ones I've rambled about in my LJ!). There's Shadow Hearts, Shadow Hearts: Covenant and Shadow Hearts: From the New World and they're all on the PS2.

There comes a bit where you start reasoning yourself out of things, saying to yourself: nah, I'm just projecting what I want to see, they'd've sat next to each other at the comedy awards if they were dating and all the being friendly with each other is my hat and and and--
*BOUNCE BOUNCE BOUNCE*

David's wife's brother's wife's sister's husband would be Alexander Armstrong AND I AM PERFECTLY CONTENT WITH THAT AS A CONNECTION. I mean it's not like I link absolutely everything back to Armstrong and Miller or anything, but, heyyyy~

Ahahaha, oh, you. This was really your first thought? I am so amused, and also not entirely surprised.

I find myself too happy over this revelation with David & Victoria.

I mean, um, I am not at all over-invested in this seemingly adorable relationship.

Part of me is worried about how thinly sourced the article is -- like, I've seen ONTD posts with better sourcing -- but I'm guessing that Mitchell's people would have issued a stronger denial if it wasn't true. *clings to hope*.
Is this the first time that an rpf pairing has happened in real life? (I mean, where the fandom clearly predated the relationship by several months.)

please, god, let this be true. I need this to be true.

(Now I just need you to say flippant stuff about Social Network actors hanging out with True Grit actresses and then you know. YOU KNOW.)

In fact, Palumpolum is probably my favourite chapter. AND I TOLD YOU THE WATERSCAPE WAS PRETTY. It is so lovely. I love everything about the game, just all of it. Except Chapter 8, which bored me so much. I'm sorry Sazh and Vanille, I just don't love you like I love Light and Hope. I think this is in part because Nautilus is a THEME PARK and you get to do a grand total of zero theme park related things there.

OMG this is the pairing of my heart and I have shipped them for AGES. SO THRILLED.

FREAKING YAY. SERIOUSLY. YAY. NOT ENOUGH CAPSLOCK IN THE WORLD.
I'm also strangely pleased that the newspaper that has ;broken' (as long as is true) this is the gossip bit in the Telegraph. Not the Sun or Mail, but the Telegraph.

I was going to post a comment on that entry going 'inb4 the press announce they're dating' BUT THEN I THOUGHT, NO THAT WOULD BE TOO TINHATTY BUT OMG

I SUSPECTED SINCE CHRIS SAID SHE SAW THEM WALKING AROUND TOGETHER
OMG
