rionaleonhart: final fantasy x-2: the sun is rising, yuna looks to the future. (cortese)

With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility, I Am Led To Understand.

I SAY THINGS AND THEN THEY COME TRUE. I SAY THINGS AND THEN THEY COME TRUE. I SAID ON FRIDAY THAT I WANTED VICTORIA COREN TO BE AT THE WOULD I LIE TO YOU? RECORDING AND SHE WAS. I SAID IN MY WRITEUP OF SAID RECORDING YESTERDAY THAT I WANTED DAVID MITCHELL AND VICTORIA COREN TO GET MARRIED AND TODAY THE TELEGRAPH ANNOUNCES THAT THEY ARE DATING.

When you do get married, guys, I fully expect an invitation to the wedding for causing this to happen with my magical powers.

Oh, my goodness, this is the best thing.

So this entry doesn't consist solely of my being creepily excited about real people I've never met getting together (this has never happened before, but then again most celebrities aren't this freaking perfect for each other guys you don't understand), further notes on Final Fantasy XIII! I have now played up to Palumpolum (...which I have only just realised is a reference to Palom and Porom of Final Fantasy IV; I thought the name sounded familiar!), where by 'played' I mean 'watched a playthrough on YouTube on account of not possessing the required console'.

- Hope really does worship Lightning. I am finding it so endearing. Particularly endearing is his awkwardness when you run the wrong way: 'Light, uh... you know best and everything, but why are we turning around?'
- Snow's reaction when Fang gives him a whack on the head cracks me up. 'Ow! That was - ow!'
- The Waterscape is extremely pretty! Also, Final Fantasy XIII seems to be making a lot of use of vocals in its music.
- The flashback to Sazh and Dajh watching the fireworks? Reader, I wept.
- Have I mentioned how totally adorable it is that Sazh keeps a baby Chocobo in his hair? It is totally adorable.
- ...OH MY GOD SAZH. Well, that explains his weird 'how did you know?' reaction when Vanille asked him whether he was down about 'the l'Cie thing'. AND VANILLE WAS WITH DAJH WHEN HE BECAME A L'CIE WHAT THIS IS CRAZY.
- (Incidentally, how much do I love that 'family' is a major theme in this Final Fantasy game? I should make a big list of my favourite themes in fiction at some point. 'Family' would probably be at the top.)
- Finding out about Dajh makes Sazh's response to finding out that Serah was a l'Cie rather interesting. When he told Lightning not to make her suffer, was he genuinely thinking about what would be best for Serah, because his son is a l'Cie as well? Or was he thinking of his son, because Serah was a Pulse l'Cie and, if destroying Pulse l'Cie is Dajh's Focus, Serah has to die?
- SNOW TAKE A LOOK AT HOPE'S FACE. YOU SEE THAT EXPRESSION OF BOILING BARELY-CONTAINED RAGE? YEAH, MAYBE YOU SHOULD ASK ABOUT THAT.
- Oh, Snow. You can see that it pains him to threaten the citizens - 'I'm a l'Cie! I'm here to kill you all!' - but he has to do it to protect them. And then Hope asks the girl whether she's okay, and she's terrified of him, and it breaks my heart a little. ('These people all want to kill us, don't they?' Oh, Hope.)
- The constant failure of Snow and Hope to Have A Chat is actually a bit maddening. It's like Josh and Nate in Waterloo Road; they keep looking as if they're about to kiss, but then something interrupts and they never actually do. But in this case Josh becomes more and more homicidal every time the kiss is denied. (This is a bad analogy because it has planted the idea of Snow and Hope kissing in my head, which simply doesn't work on any level.)
- I love it when Lightning worries about the others. Lightning, you caaaaare.
- Awww, heart-to-heart between Lightning and Fang! Which seems a little strange, perhaps, given how reserved Lightning usually is and how short a time they've known each other, but awww regardless.
- SNOW AND HOPE FINALLY TALKED. It's a shame they didn't manage to get around to it before Hope's frustration and angst built up to attempted murder, but there you go. Bless Snow for being so determined to carry Hope with him even when he was injured and exhausted and Hope had just tried to kill him.
- Lightning hugged Hope when they were reunited! ♥ ♥ ♥! And Hope didn't know what to do! There's so much focus on the relationships between the central cast members in this Final Fantasy; I'm really enjoying it.

Goodness me, wouldn't it be great if Derren Brown appeared on Would I Lie to You?? Don't mind me; just abusing my powers. While I'm at it, I'd love to be serenaded by Darren Criss, although it's possible that my reality-warping abilities pertain only to matters of British comedy.

I was just saying last night how happy this rumor made me (after seeing it in your post) and how it must come true and now it has!

*is awed by your great powers*
