YOUR COUNTRY IS SILLY

Alive and well and in San Francisco! (I saw Hot Fuzz for the first time on the aeroplane. PLEASE TELL ME THAT SOMEONE HAS WRITTEN NICHOLAS ANGEL/SAM TYLER.)

Oh, dear, I'm going to be arrested for jaywalking, aren't I? We can cross wherever we like in England! It's a difficult habit to break! ALSO, THE RIGHT IS A SILLY SIDE FOR VEHICLES TO DRIVE ON.

[identity profile] strangeumbrella.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
HOORAY FOR YOUR BEING ALIVE. Also, I did not know that you could not cross the road wherever you like in America, wtf?

Re Tyler/Angel: I tried, but god knows if I will ever finish it.

[identity profile] strangeumbrella.livejournal.com 2007-07-13 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Will emaaaail.

[identity profile] strangeumbrella.livejournal.com 2007-08-13 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I can email you what I've got, if you like; where should I send it?

[identity profile] emmarrrrr.livejournal.com 2007-08-13 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
noonlighteyes@hotmail.co.uk

:D thankyou.

[identity profile] reipan.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
There, see, ten-hour flights don't kill you ^_^ (Yes, you will be arrested for jaywalking. Make it as interesting as possible, and write the story here.)

[identity profile] culf.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Nicholas Angel is meant to be with Danny Butterman! YOU CAN'T STOP THEIR LOVE! Sorry, I've been watching too much House lately.

[identity profile] treelines.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
NEVER AGAIN APOLOGISE FOR SUCH A THING!

[identity profile] culf.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
I never will again! I've been watching too little, actually! (Too little means I've watched all the episodes twice in two months. That's when I bought the DVDs after having watched three episodes). The fact that I'm making a Chase-plushy also speaks in my favor of having watched too little. (Even though I like House and Wilson better, I had to after the "I'm sorry you're dying. I'm gonna hug you. Anything to say?" It's just the cutest hug ever!)

[identity profile] dracothelizard.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
YAAAAAAAAAAAY.

There're these things called zebra-paths, if you used those, there is less chance of a car driving over you.

Also, the right side is the right side to drive, it's in the name already!

And how much utterly ridiculous fic did you write?

[identity profile] draegonhawke.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
[It has thirteen so far, and crosses over Life on Mars, Doctor Who, Scrubs, Top Gear, Final Fantasy XII, Torchwood and Sherlock Holmes. Also, Zombie Piers Morgan shows up.]

Do we at least get to see the synopsis?

Also, [livejournal.com profile] x_los said that she didn't think Doctor Who/28 Days Later MPreg could work. I thought you could almost certainly do it.

Also also, you either need to write copious amounts of prompted Doctor Who fic or have some kind of competition, I think. 'cause I don't want all those prompts to go to waste :P.

[identity profile] draegonhawke.livejournal.com 2007-07-12 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Hah!

I await the expanded edition eagerly :).

[identity profile] emmarrrrr.livejournal.com 2007-07-28 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
They run into Gene during their escape; he is so busy mocking Balthier for his less-than-heterosexual outfit that he fails to actually stop them.

Ahahahahahahaha. Yesssss. ♥

[identity profile] draegonhawke.livejournal.com 2007-07-12 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
[Yes, all right, I've written zombie romance, but I draw the line at zombie mpreg.]

I give it a month. (http://rionaleonhart.livejournal.com/49399.html?mode=reply)

[identity profile] dracothelizard.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 10:12 am (UTC)(link)
Damn you for getting my hopes up :p

[identity profile] ladybella.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
EXCUSE ME, THE RIGHT SIDE IS THE ONLY SIDE TO DRIVE ON.

I'm so tempted to road trip down there and see you. You're right below me, damn it! Same time zone and everything!

Keep us updated, miss you already! :)

She lives! :D

Find a pedestrian who looks like they know what they're doing and jump onto their back.

(Noooooo! Angel's meant to be with Danny! Also, was it the silly cut version with all the swearing changed?)

[identity profile] treelines.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Down here in Southern Caifornia we have diagonal crosswalks which are far superior to darb parallels and utter chaos.

Obv. you should backpack your way down and say hello.

[identity profile] justspaz.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
We happen to think, horrific pun intended, the right side is the right side to drive on. Damn, I lost in the race to make that pun.

We enjoy being silly.

In New York, there is a law that states if you walk in the crosswalk, cars MUST stop for you. Even if they have the green light. It is rude to do that, but it makes you feel in charge.

Have fun!

[identity profile] plotbunnydoom.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
In our smallish but most excellent town you can't be arrested for jaywalking either. But the cars still drive on the right.

... We also have excellent beer. Yay microbreweries.

[identity profile] calamitysxchild.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Uhh I cross the road wherever I want. You are obviously somewhere that is silly and ridiculous. And I live in a hick town.

Why is it silly to drive on? I mean granted, I can't drive whether I'm supposed to be on the right, left, or somewhere off the road, but still!!

[identity profile] wolfenkahlon.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Huzzah for being aliveness! hmm, my spell check accepts 'aliveness' but not 'Huzzah'...

You are in America now, where the car is king and they drive on the wrong side of the road! For the left side is the right side, and the right side is the wrong side, so remember that if the right side is the wrong side the left side must be the right side because it is the only one left. (Paraphrased from an old Disney Cartoon).

Bah, pedestrians should be free to go where they wish!

[identity profile] twilit-wanderer.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
The crossing thing varies place to place! Unless I've been breaking the law all of my life and managed to never get in trouble for it, which seems really unlikely...

I have always felt like a bit of an idiot, because when I spent a few days in England, I completely never even noticed all of the "driving on the other side of the road" stuff.

[identity profile] livii.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Welcome!

I'm from Montreal originally, and jaywalking is a sport there between the cars and the pedestrians, so I never obey those silly laws here, heh.

[identity profile] squeemu.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
YAY! I hope that customs didn't treat you too badly. I really want to see Hot Fuzz, but haven't actually been able to yet. I BLAME BACO, even though it is probably my fault, but WHATEVER.

It depends where you're at? In New York City, everyone crosses the road whenever the want, so you basically can't drive anywhere. I... haven't actually been to San Francisco, so I don't know. HAVE YOU RIDDEN ONE OF THOSE TROLLEY THINGS???

[identity profile] squeemu.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Hoorah! I've had bad experiences with Customs people (see: the Abenteuer) and good experiences with them (see: this summer). It's really stressful either way. On the plus side, this last time I got to see a Customs agent drag a scrappy tree around their building, as well as see another throw away a lot of frozen dinners called "HUNGRY MAN."

...it doesn't take much for me to be entertained while waiting in line.

I hope you do! AND THAT YOU TELL US ALL ABOUT IT IN GREAT DETAIL! Or, um, at least your impressions of the town. I like hearing about travel and hijinks! Especially your families hijinks.

(TIME LAG IS TERRIBLE. I -- I would give you some tips, but I don't have any. The only time it happened to me, I just went to bed all day.)

[identity profile] emmarrrrr.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
I still need to see Hot Fuzz, but the prospect of Angel/Tyler amuses me greatly.

I AGREE ABOUT JAYWALKING AND THAT THE RIGHT IS A SILLY SIDE OF THE ROAD TO DRIVE ON.

Apparently, you can get away with pretty much anything in America if you're English.

[identity profile] th-esaurus.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
OMG YOU KNOW WHEN I WAS WATCHING LIFE ON MARS, I THOUGH THERE NEEDED TO BE HOT FUZZ CROSSOVER SLASH AS WELL BECAUSE THEY ARE BASICALLY THE SAAAAAAAME.

Anyway. Homg America. So exciting. HAVE MANY MANY FUNS BABE!

[identity profile] bbakerb.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
IT IS GOOD THAT YOU ARE ALIVE. Also, ride the trolley things! They are cool, and San Francisco is full of HILLS.

[identity profile] moogle62.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
WHAT why can't you cross the road when you want? What is wrong with that? Clearly America is silly.

Well done for being alive! I am proud of that! (Please don't go and get yourself deaded now I've said that *mad panic* .)

Have a wonderful time, my sweets.

[identity profile] lakester.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You've seen [livejournal.com profile] lozenger8's unfinished Life on Mars/Hot Fuzz crossover Better Beware, Better Take Care (http://lozenger8.livejournal.com/612635.html), right?

(Anonymous) 2007-07-11 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hurrah for your being alive! Alive is always good.

...I have never seen Hot Fuzz (ohtheshame), but Life On Mars crossovers=awesome.

Isn't Britain, like, one of VERY FEW countries that drive on the left? EVERYONE ELSE IS MAD.

I hope you are not arrested and that you continue to be alive and well!
