rionaleonhart: final fantasy x-2: the sun is rising, yuna looks to the future. (and many miles to go before i sleep)
[livejournal.com profile] gayjunglefever, who is absolutely lovely and marvellous, stayed over last night, and we ended up playing Silent Hill 2. We didn't get very far - in fact, we didn't even get into the actual town - but it was highly amusing to watch someone else play when I already knew everything that was going to happen. I could sit there, feeling very smug, while she was being startled by the horrible scraping gate-opening noise and going 'What do you mean I don't have any weapons?' and 'OH GOD AAAH wait, that's just a shrub, isn't it?' It is so nice to watch someone else being terrified out of their wits for once. Also, I am a filthy sadist.

I can't believe I ever actually played this game alone. It is so much better with company.

My thoughts on episode two of series nine of Top Gear can be summed up as: those were the most gloriously silly outfits ever; Richard having a strop and emptying out the golf clubs is adorable; there will be a thousand icons made of that moment in the art museum with James leaning over Richard; the cars-going-around-the-track bits are so much better when the three of them are mocking each other and providing conflicting, incredibly biased commentary, and I felt so sorry for them (and was also having university interview flashbacks aaaah) when they were being hilariously useless in the interviewy bit. Also, if I knew more about Hugh Grant, I might be tempted to write fanfiction based on that 'the Aston Martin isn't a car that you drive; you want to lick it or mate with it or something' comment. Fortunately, I do not.

On a somewhat related note, some of you people in the UK and Ireland may know of AQA, the rather marvellous answer-any-question text message service.

A couple of days ago, I asked it, 'I find Jeremy Clarkson extremely attractive. Am I insane?'

It answered, 'AQA thinks you may be ever so slightly insane for finding Jeremy Clarkson extremely attractive, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.'

I find this so much more hilarious than I should.
