rionaleonhart: final fantasy versus xiii: a young woman at night, her back to you, the moon high above. (nor women neither)

Even Grantly. Even Donte. Even Batman.

Having watched last night's episode (6.08) of Waterloo Road, I... might sort of 'ship Vicki/Chris. I shouldn't, but I do. (AT LEAST IT'S BETTER THAN JOSH/TOM.)

My housemate, who is unfond of Waterloo Road, came home after the episode finished. The subsequent exchange is blacked out due to not-very-specific spoilers for the episode; highlight to read.

Riona's Housemate: Did you enjoy your incredibly trashy television programme?
(I'm going to get complaints if I don't put a bright blue assless freak in the spoilertext box, so there you go.)
Riona: I did! It was a sad episode.
Riona's Housemate: Oh. Did everyone die?
Riona: No; only one person.
Riona's Housemate: Well, that's a start.
(pause)
Riona: (cracks up)

DREAMS OF LATE SUMMARISED IN THREE SENTENCES OR FEWER:

- Dreamt that I was Ginny Weasley, and Francesca Montoya of Waterloo Road was blackmailing me, Ron and Hermione into smuggling drugs. I would not have expected this of you, Cesca. Inexplicably, I thought several times throughout the dream 'this really reminds me of primary school'.
- Dreamt that Bela of Supernatural was Lucifer, and I was sort of friends with her (why?) but also didn't trust her at all, obviously. You wouldn't trust Bela; you wouldn't trust Lucifer; you really wouldn't trust a combination of the two. She left Pokémon crossovers done up to look like old hardbacks outside my door in an attempt to tempt me.
- Dreamt that I needed to get to a date with David Mitchell but had become trapped in the loos. Fortunately, having previously been to this time in a sort of Time Traveler's Wifey way, I knew that Captain Hammer of Dr Horrible would eventually rescue me. I suppose that makes me Henry and Mitchell Clare.
- Dreamt that I went to what I thought was a recording of Would I Lie to You?. Saw some people on the way who seemed to indicate a good lineup - Victoria Coren, Miranda Hart - and then entered the studio when the producer was essentially telling us 'just pretend David Mitchell's up there' and SURPRISE IT WAS ACTUALLY SOME SORT OF PLAY AND COREN AND HART AND MITCHELL WERE IN THE AUDIENCE. It was partially narrated by Nelson Mandela, but I still felt cheated.
- Dreamt that I was fleeing zombies with my brother's girlfriend in Brighton. I was hallucinating in my terror, so signs read 'SHOPPING CENTRE: GOOD FOR ZOMBIES', 'HOTEL: GOOD FOR ZOMBIES' to me (as in 'these places are good places for zombies to be; come in, zombies'). Eventually, I got out of there, leaving Joseph's girlfriend to presumably be eaten. I don't know why. I like her very much. A few nights later, I dreamt that I kissed her, in what was presumably a slightly awkward attempt by my subconscious to make up for my previous dream-callousness.
- Yes, there were six sentences there, but it covers two dreams, so I'm allowed.
- Three lines directly from the notebook in which I scribble down my dreams: beyond the portcullis we found a villain! an unknown bearded man engaged him in some sort of martial art with sticks and didn't do terribly well. my friend engaged him in hitting-over-the-head-with-brass-pot combat and fared much better.

I'm still working my way through Waterloo Road's back catalogue, and episode 2.10 made me so sad. Lorna.

The Best Waterloo Road Fic Ever

Once upon a time, Lorna was sad, which was understandable because everything constantly went wrong in her life. She tried to hide the fact that she was sad, because that's what she does, but someone noticed, possibly Izzie, and everyone gave her a hug. Even Mika, who somehow magically got over her resentment of her. Even Josh, whom she hadn't even met because he doesn't appear for another three series. Everyone. Also Tom punched himself in the balls, precipitating his development into a better person, and then he, Izzie and Lorna all settled down into a three-way relationship and finally stopped ruining each other's lives.

The End

(Seriously, somebody write some Tom/Izzie/Lorna. It's not even that Waterloo Road is a fandom in which nobody's writing fanfiction; there's a section on fanfiction.net with 350 fics in it. It's just that nobody is writing the things I want to read. 'I wonder whether there's any Josh/Finn? All right, no... Chris/Vicki? Tom/Izzie/Lorna? Someone must have written Brett/Davina, surely.' NO. THEY NEVER HAVE. With its rapidly changing cast, Waterloo Road has more than sixty significant characters, so I suppose many more than 350 fics would be required to cover all the possibilities, but still.)

Wait, what? How is there no Josh/Finn?

Does not compute.

This makes my heart a sad panda.

The solution to this is to nominate it for Yuletide. Eligibility is based purely on the number of stories on AO3, so ff.net doesn't come into it!

Whoops, I should have read the comments first :)

"Dreamt that Bela of Supernatural was Lucifer"
That is so awesome. I so, so wanted SPN Lucifer to be a woman (but you know, to kick ass and not be all mindlessly evil and to not get killed off). Having Bela turn out to be Lucifer would have been amazing.

Is it the season for weird dreams or something? Last night I dreamt I was on the run during the zombie apocalypse and got picked up by a triple decker bus driven by William Shatner.

*laughs* I wish I could say it was, but it was bogstandard Ulsterbus livery, sadly. And the dream ended shortly after, so I fear Shatner's sorting status will remain an unknown quantity...

OT, but I'm vaguely surprised that I've never seen you write a fic for Yuletide.I see almost nothing but tiny fandoms on this LJ!
