To Catch Them Is My Real Test; To Rule Them Is My Cause.

Regarding the seventh volume of Fullmetal Alchemist: was Greed this amazing in the anime? Surely I would have remembered had he been this amazing. DON'T FIGHT HIM, GUYS; JUST, I DON'T KNOW, HANG OUT AND FIGHT CRIME TOGETHER. (There were points at which Greed and the Devil's Nest crew reminded me of Mello and his gang, actually. But Greed and company are a bit more awesome.

I really wanted to use 'remound' as the past tense of 'remind' there.)

It looks as if the end of the seventh volume may be where the anime and manga begin to diverge, which means that this is where things get really interesting. For the past few volumes, I've been able to vaguely recall the corresponding anime episodes, and so I've had some idea of what to expect; from here on, I do not know what's going to happen at all. How exciting!

HERE IS THE PROBLEM WITH MY HANGING AROUND IN BRIGHTON TO LOOK FOR A HOUSEMATE POST-ACADEMIC YEAR: much of the time, I have nothing better to do than come up with the most appalling crossover ideas possible and then illustrate them.

Who knew he would go this far?

SHARE YOUR BAD CROSSOVER IDEAS WITH ME IN THE COMMENTS. They do not have to be in manip form, although that would be rather fun.

At least one photo was actually a manip, I'm pretty sure (the one with him in front of Buckingham Palace, about to get his head cut off by one of the guards). The others may have merely been wildly out of context.

How are Jeffrey!!!! and Jonathan supposed to handle Misha's insanity? He will strike back with ridiculous manisp of his own!

[identity profile] amy-wolf.livejournal.com 2009-06-19 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
And he's got minions with poison gas. Allegedly.

Jeffrey!!!! and Wossy are doomed. Poor Jeffrey!!! He's going to get trampled in this shipwar, and be left going "But...but...but...I just wanted to say how cute those two were together!!!!!!"

Which is, presumably, where Bruce comes in with his plan to re-enact the Big Gay Wine Adventure.

But with 100% less gay, obviously. Bruce might have a lavender farm, but he's not gay.

That's true. The whole "Let's all drive around to wineries and get drunk" plan sounds very Bruce. Although Jeffrey!!! might see it as a seduction attempt, after watching the Big Gay Wine Adventure.

"You want me to go on a wine adventure with you?"
"Yeah, to get you over your weird internet boat thing. I promise there won't be any grape juice jacuzzis."

[identity profile] amy-wolf.livejournal.com 2009-06-19 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"Bruce, I like you but...well, I don't like you the way James likes Oz!!!"

"James is supposed to like Oz? I thought the whole point was that Oz annoyed the crap out of him, but kept promising him wine."

[identity profile] dracothelizard.livejournal.com 2009-06-19 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Bruce, did you miss the episode where Oz tried to take James out on a date, and then forgot his wallet?"

"...Jeffrey, did you get too many blows to the head, or something? That was not a date."

"Yeah, James just dressed up nicely for it especially and brushed his hair!!!!"

"Stop it, or I'm asking Gabrielle to drive the motorhome."

[identity profile] amy-wolf.livejournal.com 2009-06-19 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"What about the 'oscillation' line?"

"The what?"

"Oz said James frequently oscillates him while driving!!!! That means they kiss!!!"

"I may not have been paying attention at that point. I was playing the drinking game version."

"Drinking game version?"

"Every time James May takes a drink, I take a drink. You'd be surprised how great the show is when you watch it that way."

"Okay, how is it that your liver is still intact?"

"What can I say, my liver is just that good."

What do you bet that Bruce, at one point, decides to say something encouraging about the 'internet boat thing', and goes "So, what was it you liked? The Triumph Herald? The Hilux? Or the van?" Probably firmly resolved to pretend that it makes any sense at all to prefer one of the ones that sank to the Hilux.

[identity profile] dracothelizard.livejournal.com 2009-06-19 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
YES. Bruce would argue that if only Jeremy had been a little bit more careful with the Toybota, he would've been fine, but no, he wasn't careful, and then James won.

"Oh, hey, did you see the one where they cross the English channel?"

"The one where they all end up on a tiny boatcar together? Yes, I did, Bruce. Especially the bit where James helps Richard to steer it."

[identity profile] amy-wolf.livejournal.com 2009-06-19 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Then you'd notice that the sailboat was crap, and the pickup was the only way to go. No wonder you get in fights on the internet about this. Honestly, I get why you'd like your ship, but the Toybota's the only way to go."

[identity profile] dracothelizard.livejournal.com 2009-06-19 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahaha Bruce will pretend in his head the shipwars are about the carboats. STICK WITH THAT EXPLANATION, BRUCE. It'll be for your own sanity!

"Okay, granted, they had to replace the Toybota with a Nissank, but the principle's the same. Sailboats don't work, and nor to campervans."

"The dampervan had a Gay Times in it, you know. I have a screencap of them reading it!!!"

"...I think I've got a scene now, Jeffrey."
